disappointed with functionality

i was very disappointed with this product. I was looking for a multitasker for my kitchen . I has all the bells and whistles I was looking for . a phone app and a digital display. an the GE backed warranty . Which is the best thing about this product. I want to thank GE for standing by their product. the gave me a warranty replacement. .Unfortunately I nothing but problems . the convection make feature let me down completely. I took 2 hours one time to preheat the oven . The Display on the oven. would freeze up and lag out . the phone app would also do the same. Google connectivity was unresponsive and lacked features. the concept of the oven was solid but the performance was dissappointing.at best.

Worst new appliance experience ever. Purchased the 30" CAFE Advantium 5 in 1 for over $3K in mid-November to replace a nearly 20-year old true GE Profile Advantium before Thanksgiving. The electrician installed it last Saturday using the same dedicated 220V 30A circuit the prior unit was on. Five days after installation it just died, mid-cycle, while heating dinner on Thursday evening. Not even a week old and totally dead. GE Customer Service is worthless. First available GE service call was well into December. An independent GE authorized service provider might take a look at it the night before Thanksgiving, but already said they will have to get repair authorization from GE, order parts, or replace the entire unit, and either way it will likely be at least several weeks. GE/CAFE outright refuses to replace the brand new barely used unit, saying they are only obligated to repair it. Thanks for nothing GE. Save your money. Don't buy GE Profile or CAFE, and if you do definitely don't expect much out of their near worthless "repair" warranty. Maybe my guests will marvel at how pretty my $3K non-operational oven is while we cook on the outdoor propane grille next Thursday.

Cafe let us down with wavy stainless door front

If you have large bright kitchen stay away from this product. The oven will look fine in a small dimly lit kitchen. We purchased a Cafe Advantium speed oven with matching regular oven in January 2024 in stainless steel. The Advantium oven door arrived with rippling/wavy/dented stainless. All three replacement doors arrived the same and so did two replacement ovens! Kudos for GE for trying to rectify the situation. Production dates spanned more than two years so not an isolated problem. GE's response "we have confirmed with the factory that these products meet the quality standards". This issue has been brought up in other reviews on this site and seems to appear on all stainless Cafe advantium oven doors. Cafe was kind enough to offer a refund on the Advantium but not on the matching regular oven. Our thought was to replace the ovens with similar matching Monograms that don't suffer from this defect with us paying the difference in price on both ovens. We selected these ovens as best in class and they do perform very well, however they just don't look good with a wavy stainless front.

We™™ve only had it installed for a week, but already love it. Microwave works great although the popcorn function has a bit of a learning curve to get just right. I love the oven reheat function. The broiler works well but it does require constant vigilance as things go from underdone to burnt very quickly. I told my wife I like it so we™™ll I™™ll use it a lot more than our expensive wall oven.

We love our new oven! So many awesome features to try and use. It is user friendly and each step pops up on the screen as u choose your program. The crisp reheat is the best option! We reheat pizza and chicken and so many other leftovers. They taste better than the first time. You will never go wrong with this oven. The microwave works great also but having so many ways to cook and reheat your food at your fingertips is amazing.

Cafe is one of the worst brands I™™ve ever had of appliances. We build brand new and our Speed oven completely died under 2 yrs, LED lights on refrigerator have died, the range knobs have been replaced several times, dishwasher leaks all over hardwood floor and took 4 service calls to add multiple new seals. All of this is under 2 yrs of having this appliances. Terrible quality. We went for aesthetics and we are paying for it.

The oven works great as a microwave. We have used many of the special features. Some were highly useful while others less so. It's getting better as we become more familiar with the features it has. We've watched several videos and learned learned a great deal about everything it can do. GE could increase customer satisfaction by providing a good users guide or videos with the oven. What videos they have leaves much to be desired. You've already sold us a great product, but now help us to be able to use it to its full potential.

I have had two of these units over the last 5 years and both of them have caught on fire. There is a significant defect in these units where they will short out and can catch on fire. Save your self a bunch of money and buy a cheaper and more reliable toaster oven and separate microwave. The elegant design is not worth the risk to your family.

This oven/microwave is amazing. We use it for nearly everything (baking, toasting, crisp reheating and simply microwaving. And it has a mini so you don™™t even have to think when using it. Our only complaint is how noisy it is when using the microwave. It has a vibrating / humming sound that is pretty loud.

This experience is what happened to our Advantium oven, exactly word for word as the reviewer who posted recently, so I simply quoted what another reviewer wrote a few weeks ago after my comments, along with exact, quoted word-for-word response from the put-offish "Cafe Rep" Adrian@Cafe who made it sound as if this was not an actual issue, and "tsked" the owner to just have a "certified technician" diagnosis the problem. Check this out; it took TEN days for the Cafe' rep to bother even responding with a written comment, based on the posted dates of the original comment and the response from the Cafe's rep. Now that's pretty telling in terms of being concerned and timely- isn't it???? The Cafe's Advantium oven we purchased two years ago has been wonderful and offers flexibility and features beyond compare with ovens twice and three times the price. HOWEVER; the lock up and not working issue is the ONLY reason we now have a circuit breaker in our basement breaker box labeled "MICROWAVE" in bold letters so we can find it easier when we want to unlock the oven to make it work again in the middle of meal prep. Because the oven will lock up without any rhyme or reason, and the "unlock" feature does not work. We had a "certified GE technician" come out for a pretty penny, and he could not do anything to fix the problem except reset the breaker - which is NOT fixing the appliance issue, by the way. The technician told me not to expect this again, BUT if it did happen, the issues would most likely require a major repair, likely meaning that the motherboard and circuits in the appliance itself needed replacing. This has now started occurring about every 2- 3 weeks, without any warning, and with increasing frequency. Based on his response to the previous reviewer, the CAFE' rep Adrian@Cafe pushed this issue under the rug. I wanted to side with the owner in my review to say that everything they experienced has been seen by a different owner of the same appliance, and the certified GE technician who came out did nothing to fix the appliance because he told me, "He didn't know how to fix this issue." 2 out of 5 stars. Although we like the oven and it cooks well, it only cooks well when it isn't locking up. We installed about 5 months ago and continuously have to reset the breaker as it locks up all the time. Even when it is working the lock button shows as locked. We ordered all of our appliances through GE Cafe and are very disappointed with this appliance while the others work well so far. Not Impressed with the quality for the price

Due to all the complicated electronics in this microwave, it intermittently shuts off, the screen locks and you will have to research the internet or manual to find out how to unlock. The fan appears to be off balance and going out and the turn table broke but GE did send a replacement part.

Wonderful Speed Oven!

An excellent multi-function wall oven that replaces our microwave and small countertop appliances. No more toaster oven! Having so many cooking and heating functions at your fingertips is terrific, although some of them are overkill. I can figure out how to heat water, thank you. That said, it offers a quick and reliable array of functions at a touch. We love the Crisp Reheat function (no more soggy pizza crust), and being able to toast bread in it. However, having to change out the trays from glass (microwave) to metal (most other functions) is kind of a pain. Otherwise, it's been a wonderful addition to the kitchen.

So this was a replacement of a previous unit that lasted 15 years. Now in year two of this expensive oven I™™m having to schedule (and pay for) a second repair for the turntable not turning and generating sparks. The first repair scheduled through the company, the repairman saw the broken piece and left a piece he couldn™™t reach easily in the oven. Since then it ™stalls™ and sparks. Now it isn™™t turning at all. Seems like poorer quality (easy to break parts) product with poor service. Waste of money at this price.

The Advantium Wall Oven/Microwave so far has worked as expected. Still trying to determine the advantage of using the wall oven vs. the range. Love the easy to use touch pad. We choose the 240v over the 120v and are very happy with the efficiency whether we are using the Oven or the microwave. We did not have good luck using the toast feature. But maybe we were using it wrong. We bought a Cafe series toaster. Works great.

Despite the other amazing appliances in our new kitchen, this is my favorite and most used. It has taught me that what we cook our food in really makes a difference in the outcome of the food! Same foods, prepared in this oven are even better than before. The frozen pizza has more moisture, food cooks faster due to the microwave component but comes out with a crisp/browning too. My favorite is the customization of heating element and microwave. Only complaint is the roasting aspect is not even, with one side of the oven browning more heavily requiring me to rotate.

I am so glad that we chose this over a standard microwave. Since we cannot get a second oven need to primarily for holiday festivities, we opted for the advantium since it has so many cooking features. This also eliminates many small countertop appliances. I have used it with several features. I broiled tomatoes and peppers for my hot sauce. I grilled. Everything was perfect. I™™m just having a hard time connecting to smart phone.

Touch screen makes settings easy and intuitive. Major improvement over our previous Monogram Advantium. Sensor cooking is spot on while conventional convection bakes come out as expected!

This really is an amazing oven and really does everything. It definitely has a learning curve. I am disappointed that the display screen doesn™™t have the same graphics as my french door wall oven. Seems like they should match and be able to do an over the air update. Any chance?

This is the best appliance I have ever owned! It does everything! Really. It was pricey, but it was the closest size that would fit into our space where our old built-in microwave was. It is programmed to cook just about anything you can think of. I™™m still learning as I go on all the features it has. It is very user friendly-even for my husband to use. Lol. Highly recommend.

The features are good but the turntable pin broke under normal use. Did not stand up to changing the turntable as required when using all of the multiple cooking features.

Would like to know how to remove stains on back of oven. Tried stainless polish, soap and water,water. Can't get spots to get eraced. Oven is terrific. Getting used to all it can do!!!!! Wished it came in white. Stainless is very hard to keep looking great.

The advantium is amazing! We can use it for everything- chicken, frozen taquitos, roasted potatoes, grilled cheese sandwiches™¦. It replaces our microwave, air fryer, and oven. It is really user friendly so my teen and 9 year old can easily use it. I highly recommend this oven.
