Older Model Was Better

I should have pulled my older model Cafe French door oven out and brought it to my new house. This new model has less racks, less room and lots of software glitches. The new design of the easy glide racks take up more room in the oven, resulting in less clearance for pans between the racks. You have to constantly rearrange racks depending on what you need to accommodate. And now there are only 2 racks instead of 3. I dont see any feasible way to even make use of a 3rd rack in this oven due to the oversize of the 2 provided. Touchscreen control has locked up several times needing reset at the circuit breaker.

French Door doesn't close

Unreliable product and repair company. I have been waiting since November to have the Cafe French door oven repaired. The door doesn't shut and the light stays on. Bodwell is the repair company and they have not shown for 3 appointments. The first appointment the replacement part was incorrect. The oven needs to be replaced and customer service line has not provide the best way to rectify the no-show appointments.

I love the look of this oven, a friend had this style for a medical condition and I was sold. I ordered the entire kitchen suite in stainless with the optional gold handles and it™€™s beautiful. It™€™s very fancy with all the electronic controls and I just had it installed a couple weeks ago and have baked several things in it and it performs well.

Controls definitely need work

Love the look. and the French doors. Cooks like a dream. The controls are another matter. If used from my mobile phone, generally not a problem, with the exception of the timer dismiss. But impossible using the controls on the oven screen. Setting the temperature very fiddly as the temperatures move too quickly to select accurately. Using the timer is impossible! I cannot hit the numbers hard or soft enough to select them - absolutely nothing works! Using the timer function on my mobile phone I found it impossible to "dismiss" the chime alerting the time was up. Calling the help desk was NO HELP. Eventually hit the oven screen hard enough to "dismiss". Now I just use my mobile phone's timer and avoid the oven's functions for timer completely - on the oven AND on the mobile app. When one pays in excess for $5000 for an oven, one expects controls to work better than this. This information was given to this Help Desk - we still have heard NOTHING, so not great Customer Service for a very expensive oven.

Don™€™t get the oven with digital controls. Hold out for actual knobs and buttons. Haven™€™t used it yet, but setting up connectivity took about 45 minutes and all my patience. It wouldn™€™t recognize my touch and you can™€™t cook unless it recognizes this. I™€™ll be getting a stylus to see if that works. Very frustrating. But it™€™s beautiful. Style over function

I actually love this oven. I™€™m short and the French doors make it easier to get things in and out. That is why I got it again at a different house we bought and renovated. However™€¦.. don™€™t ever use the self cleaning! It burns out the control panel. And, it is a nightmare to get anyone from GE to help or fix or replace! After 3 months of going back and forth with GE, they must have finally heard us and our complaint and sent us a new oven. Don™€™t ever use the self clean!

I™€™m short 5.3™€™ a walk oven is dangerous (leaning into burning arms & chest) a range oven is not as troublesome but the body mechanics needed are not good and balance is off (falls) this is perfect. Arrived with some damage and missing screws but it

Just installed. Disappointed to find a dent on the side of unit and pin sized dents on back. The bottom the bolts on the right of the unit are bent as well. Missing screws for trim plate. On the positive side - it's beautiful and I hope these issues don't effect it's functionality.

It is an excellent and flexible oven, great design One issue however is the two sliding racks, both of which take more space than a typical oven rack. It would be helpful to have one sliding rack and one traditional rack to provide more flexibility. Or at least have an option to buy a fixed rack that would fit the oven. Thanks!

Where to start? The Air Fryer is so easy to use. No need for an outside appliance. The built in Air Fryer is very easy to program. Weight or amount being heated, desired temperature and time that all you need. The rest of the oven is just as easy to use. Add to that the unit looks great.

Love my French Door Oven!

Absolutely love this oven. We were able to install in an addition that included a huge new kitchen. Working with our builder (who also made the cabinets), it was so easy to figure out the best location for this oven. It works great at counter height, no bending over, no reaching up. It's opposite of a very large island where I can prepare what's going in the oven, away from other cooking that may be taking place on the stove. About the cooking with the oven - it holds temperature well and heats up quickly! The alerts, such as when it reaches its temperature or the timer, are loud enough to hear and even have warning alerts on countdowns. My only down comment is that our GE stove with oven below holds a large pizza box (to keep it warm) that won't fit in this oven because it is not as deep. Will be honest...when I suggested a French Door Oven, my husband balked at the extravagance. This from the same man who was forever cautioning me when lifting heavy dishes in and out of our conventional double wall mount oven. He was convinced that I would drop a dish or burn myself or both. Now that we have this oven, he LOVES it too and really sees the benefits of how easy it is to get things in and out of a very hot oven!

Gorgeous and works wondeful. Precision baking is great. Multi rack convection cooks to perfection. The food trivia on the front screen is fun to read when you walk by. Haven™€™t really used the WiFi features much, but it™€™s nice that it™€™ll notify me when something is done.

I don't even know how to begin. This is the first "anything" that I have owned that is so luxurious, smart and fun! I love waking up and seeing what the screen will be showing me. Candied Bacon was the recipe for today. My goodness! It is easy to use, easy to clean, easy everything! I love this oven! I worked and saved for this for many years. It was my dream oven! When I first saw one, around 2017, it wasn't a smart oven so I was doubled surprised when I saw mine.

We have had the oven for just a couple of weeks and absolutely LOVE IT. It was easy to set up and connect with Wi-Fi. It is so easy to operate either on the screen or through Wi-Fi. The double door feature and rolling shelves really makes it nice to get things in and out and not have the full door to lean over especially when checking on the food or moving food around.

Flimsy doors, and the company tried to blame us!

The doors on the oven were extremely loose and floppy. The store sent service technicians twice, both said, ™€œhmm, maybe Luke knows how to fix this.™€ Then we were told that GE claims we had to have lifted it by the handles, and therefore broke it ourselves. The handles were not installed on the doors; it would™€™ve been nearly impossible to picked it up by the doors/handles while installing.

I have been using my oven for over a year now and can't say enought about it. Temperature is perfect, slide out racks make for a smooth check up of items being cooked or to remove. Sturdy as well. The doors are great because you open with one hand and both doors open. The split doors allow for installation in a right area. I am I L O V E with the oven and would buy it again!

So far I like the oven...I hope in a few weeks I'll say I love it. Don't know yet. But, it needed to come with instructions! Like, how to remove the grates. Yes, I eventually found the tabs, but it wasn't intuitive. And the temperature probe...I'll give it a try, I think I see where to plug it in, but I would feel more confident if there was something to tell me what to expect. So, now for the POSITIVE. I love the double door, and I love having the oven on the wall. My husband couldn't understand why I didn't want a traditional range where you have risk burning yourself to get stuff out, and you have to get down on your knees to clean it. I managed to set up the wifi connection and that works...but, again, I'd love more instructions to maximize my experience.
