Bought this 2 summers ago and of course today the hottest day dies. Waste of $600.00, took proper care of it cleaned filters and today all we get is fan mode. Don™™t recommend unless you have money to throw away in 2 years. Very disappointed in the A/C.

I bought this unit about 3 years ago. I used it only sparingly the first year. In 2019 & 2020 I used it all summer to cool a very warm upstairs bedroom which is basically an insulated attic of a Cape Cod style house. The room is about 230 square feet with 7 foot high ceilings. The unit performed adequately but pretty much had to run constantly to keep the room at around 70 degrees during the day. It is also extremely loud, I'm not sure how anybody could consider this to be a quiet machine.This year I set it up exactly the same as the previous 2 summers and while it does power up and blow air, it is completely unable to provide any cooling whatsoever. I've checked everything and it's all setup the same as before, it just isn't cold anymore. I guess it broke over the winter while safely stored away in a closet 3 feet from where it was setup during the summer.One should probably expect to get more than a couple of years out of a machine and based on my experience I can't recommend this product. I'm going to be a bit gun-shy about purchasing another Frigidaire appliance in the future.

Bought it 2 years ago I just came here for the manual. Nicest unit with many functions. Fan, dehumidifier, ac. Filters are easy to clean. With the window vent extending panel was large enough for a balcony door.

I wish I would have read these BEFORE my husband purchased this. It cools, but as others stated: it leaks a gallon of water every time we use it. We hooked up the drain as instructed and a little comes out there, but it is leaking a lot from the bottom or inside somewhere. Please put remedy in FAQ!!!

We got this unit for our living room in our apartment (less than 700 sq. Ft) and it seems to do a nice job cooling, however with the drain caps on the top and bottom drains, there is CONTINUOUS leakage of water! So much water leaks out of the unit after only running for 30 min in cool mode that it soaks up an entire towel. DO NOT RECOMMEND. We have to constantly attach the hose to ™drain™ the remaining water, but it constantly leaks while running. To avoid property damage, we have stopped using this unit. POOR POOR QUALITY.

Great unit; I have one LG and one GE both from Lowes and they all seem to operate very similar at first yet deteriorate rather rapidly inside of three years. But right at one year the Frigidaire, which I thought to be a superior product since it cost $500.00, slightly more expensive, it started leaking and the compressor won't come on.

Installed the Frigidaire FFPA1422U1 a few days ago and it™™s terrible. It leaks sooooo much and it doesn™™t cool down my 652 Sq ft place. Do not waste your money on this! I™™m currently on hold with customer service who is reading the manual with me -oh wait she just disconnected as I™™m typing this! Please someone at fridgidaire get back to me and explain how this unit is not working to cool my place which is 652 Sq feet!

Ive had the ffpa1422u1 for 2 years, but I did not get to use it. I just unboxed it today. Unfortunately the unit blows cool air for 1 minute and discontinues. After running this thing for a day, no cool air from it for 45 minutes to an hour after turning it on.

We have this upstairs in our bedroom and it does a great job cooling us down to sleep. My only gripe is the weird noises it makes. It doesn't bother my boyfriend, and I've gotten used to them.

I had difficulty ducting out as unit was overheating, but figured it out by reducing duct length to outside. I wish unit had a way to regulate on/off based on a schedule vs temp. I am using it in an attic that is used sparingly so there is no way to really put on daily timer to go on and off.....

This is my third portable AC, so my expectations are low. Although the unit cools well, it certainly doesn™™t cool better than a unit rated for a much smaller space. And worse - the exhaust hose leaks at the collar where it connects to the unit if the hose is angled (to reach window connection). Had to readjust and seal the tube and now the cooling is slightly better. It™™s just okay. NEEDS the drain hose continuously connected as otherwise it needs emptying every couplehours. Annoying. But overall, I™™m glad to have bought it, its better than my broken one it replaced.

It works great, keeps room really cool. Installation was very difficult, though. We had to cut something to make it fit in the window and didn't expect to have to. Spent many hours to get it installed but love it and couldn't be happier with it now that we have. The difficulty with installation is only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

Bought ac within 4 months blower blades explodes through air vents. Fridigidare sends replacement and 4 months later same exact happens to replacement and arch™™s at plug in wall. Don™™t waste your time money or put family in risk

My building doesn't allow window AC's, only the larger ones that go in a sleeve in the wall to the street. Problem is that the cover needs to be removed by the maintenance man in the summer and replaced in the winter because its sealed with plaster and I don't want to be charged for damages. This AC was too large a BTU but simple to install. No drainage since I bought it. Filters clean easily after a month or so of usage when the light informed me I should. Great machine.

I bought this unit in June and it is now Late September and I can honestly say it has saved my life during the brutal summer months here in the city. I live in an apartment that is around 500 square feet with 11 foot ceilings, which was an extreme challenge when trying to keep humidity out of my apartment. As the temperatures hit to 90 degrees plus I thought I was out of options until I found this until that changed my life. The unit actually does what it says it will, and cools off my apartment to a temperature that is livable, and after owning units in the past I can promise you this is no piece of junk and is worth every penny. I wake up every day and drain from both access points and it keeps the unit running smoothly and efficiently. The unit itself isn™™t loud either which is really shocking to me, as it pulls quite a bit of BTUs, yet I find myself sleeping peacefully every night and not dehydrated like so many New Yorkers I know. I™™m addition I have two cats as well whose moods have completely shifted upon getting the unit because it made that much of a difference in air temperature. The only thing I have not found useful is the remote provided, because I believe the batteries were bad when I bought the unit. So it™™s just a matter of changing them which is an easy fix. But overall please don™™t hesitate and waste your time and simply by the unit and save yourself the time and stress!

I bought this as a replacement for an older portable AC unit - different make though. I liked the idea of 14,000 BTU - on paper a lot more than my older machine. However to be fair I don't see any improvement to the strength in BTU...a little disappointed with that I'm afraid!

Powerful enough to cool our large family room (28x20 with 14'ceiling). One problem though is that on "Automatic setting", it doesn't actually keep temperature at 78 or above. Have to turn it down to 76 or below and I don't always want it that cold . Filter light goes on after about 2 weeks running which means they would like you to vacuum the 2 filters. Runs quietly.

Only had the need to use this a few times this summer. Seems to work well in our large great room. Doesn™™t cool down as quickly as the older window unit did but as long as we turned it in earlier in the day it made it comfortable. Unfortunately it leaked water all over the hardwood floor upon first use. Called Customer service and they determined the unit was defective (not user error) and will be sending me a new one. Very good service and easy transaction.

I have cathedral ceilings and 2 short walls, so I needed something to cool a large area, about 3/4 of my main level. I have a fan in the basement to blow cool air upstairs and I am careful with closing blinds when the sun shines in. I have this air conditioner in my front room. It is a big room by itself. I turn it on and it keep the front room cool and the rest of the house isn't hot either. It was set to 72 and I have kept it there. It's cool enough for me. I didn't expect it to keep the whole house cold. If it was in an enclosed room I think it would keep it cold. It was easy to set up.

To be honest with you it's my first portable air conditioning unit. Bring it up the stairs with like nearly impossible to Super Duper heavy. I really didn't know how to put it together thank God for having a boyfriend. Cold air does blow out of it but it's best if you stand right in front of it. Even with the sweeping motion it just seems like it's cooling the ceiling not the house. I grabbed a smaller fan to put in front of it to blow air out across the apartment. If I had to buy it all over again I wouldn't. The unit sticks out away from the wall because I have to have this big round thing that goes into the window and it's just an eyesore. Like I can't wait to take it down during the winter so I can have my house look pretty again. Ultimately it like I'm not really satisfied. My neighbors have a small unit that extends from the window and it seems that they get better cold air. Maybe it's because no one's really taught me how to use it but honestly it's still a nice or it's heavy I'm moving to a place that has forced air coming in from the ceiling and the wall. I don't know what to do with this one now. My boyfriend wants to keep it for the other room which also has air and heating. For $600 it was okay.

I bought this unit to replace the one I used for close to 10 years, all summer long. Easily cools 1000 sft, much faster than another brand of similar btu™™s that I bought last year. It™™s quieter than my older model. Only complaint is the window exhaust mount - it™™s harder to install than the older model. In conclusion, it™™s worth every cent if you don™™t have central air.

We bought this air conditioner about 6 weeks ago from Best Buy and are very happy with it. It cools the first floor of our townhouse quite effectively (about 800SF), unless it's into the high 90s for days on end. More effective, smaller, and quieter than our old machine.

Overall, I™™m very happy with this portable a/c unit. The quality is much better than the ™off-name™ brands at many big box stores. I have about 700 square feet to cool and it does the job. I am glad that I opted for the larger unit and I would recommend anyone do the same if you need to cool more than one room.
