Cools but noisy

We replaced an old Frigidaire air conditioner that was still working thinking a new one would be quieter, more energy efficient, and cool better. This one is not quieter- we don™™t know if our bills will be less yet, and cooling is just a bit better. What we do like is the remote control and the choice of settings for the unit. I am disappointed in how loud it is. It is hard to hear dialogue on the tv when it is running.

This AC worked great at first, when we installed it it was over 90 degrees in our apartment and shortly after powering it on, the temp quickly dropped to a cool 70. However, two weeks later it wouldn™™t hold a temp below 80.

Air Somewhat Cold

I just got this to replace a relatively new A/C that broke. I™™m not super impressed with this one. First of all, it didn™™t quite fit in the sleeve it came with so it has to sit 2 extra inches out from the wall in the front which is unattractive. Second, it™™s much louder than my old A/C. Even with the fan turned to the lowest setting it™™s loud. Also, it doesn™™t seem to be keeping the room very cold at all. I had to turn the temp down at least 7-8 degrees lower than I would have to on the previous one just to get it cold. Not very energy efficient. And the fan doesn™™t seem to blow very hard, even at the top speed the air just doesn™™t seem to get out into the room. The air blows maybe two feet out from the machine so unless you™™re standing directly in front of it you get nothing. I™™ve had to use a fan to help blow air around. Overall I would not buy this again and if it weren™™t already installed I would send it back.

This a/c has a nice clean look and, more importantly, it works well. I bought one to cool a large space and the other to cool a space that is smaller that faces south so gets lots of sun. The units do well in both rooms. I did not give 5 stars only because they have not been in use for a full year yet. Will update if any changes.

This A/C definitely does the job. In fact it's cooling a space even larger than the square footage it's recommend for. It keeps the space nice and cool and the automated temperature control features are helpful. My only gripe is that it's very loud, but perhaps the performance/noise tradeoff.

Good Cooling Power - Vents Don't Point High Enough

Largest flaw I find is the vent does not point high enough. If your AC sleeve hole thru-the-wall is lower on the wall/closer to the floor (under a window in my case) the vents do not point high enough to push the cool air upwards. Thus the room does not cool as well since cold air does not rise. What ends up happening is all the cold air stays low and the room doesn't effectively cool. This is a good standard high-power sleeve AC unit but you'll need an additional fan to push the cold air upwards.

Works well. Installed relatively easily after reviewing the reviews that were helpful. However, I'm upset about the lack of help from Customer Support in clarifying confusing dimensions. I had a Frigidaire thru-the-wall AC previously installed with sleeve. The cut out dimensions for the new unit were larger than for the old unit, so I assumed I needed to enlarge the hole and get a new sleeve. When the new, recommended sleeve arrived (>$110), it was exactly the same dimensions as the old sleeve!.CS offered no help whatsoever in assuring me the new unit would fit into it. No technical or design people were available. It did fit, but I wasted a huge amount of effort in unnecessarily removing the old sleeve and in unnecessarily enlarging the hole, and in ordering and paying for an unnecessary new sleeve.

Great AC! Install instructions need a rewrite

This new AC is great, we purchased 2 of them for the back rooms of our house, along with the EA108T Sleeve and the EA109T rear grille. The install instructions on the sleeve and grille need to be rewritten. Using the sleeve brackets causes too much of the wall sleeve to be on the inside of the house, and the frame does not sit flush against the wall. Also the instructions on the rear grille need to state that they are written for a 1 person install, because the instructions tell you to install it from the inside, leading people to think that the rear grille goes inside the sleeve like the provided one does. So, 1/4 inch of the sleeve should be on the inside of the house, and the grill actually goes on the outside sleeve. I included some photos, the first was using the brackets, the rest are the reinstall.
