We bought this product 9 months ago, the fridge door start squeaking and excess oil is spilling around hinges. This is supposed to be an upgrade from our old fridge of the same brand. The old one had a better workmanship quality.

After looking for about a year for a new refrigerator, we finally settled on the Frigidaire Gallery Custom-Flex 18-cu Feet. (Some 14 years ago we installed a Frigidaire Gallery in a kitchen we had renovated, and loved that unit.) Sadly, we had been unable to actually see this model since none of the half dozen or so dealers we visited had one on display. Instead we relied on the Frigidaire website; what we saw there and what we wound up with are significantly different.The website shows one Custom-Flex door with ten compartments. The reality is that with additional bins, there would be no way to actually get anything into or out of them ™" there™™s not enough clearance space.Another image shows brackets along the back wall and a half-width shelf; this system was much appreciated in our old unit. The reality is that the new full-width shelves slide into grooves on the sides, but the height options are severely limited, and do not allow for ™over 100 ways to organize™ as touted on the website.The plastic used in this new unit for the bins and shelf ends feels like disposable plastic [although disposable plastic often has smoother finished edges]. The door exteriors are similarly poorly finished.The refrigerator door does not consistently shut tight nor does the door stay in a fully open position. [A repairperson had readjusted the door, which had been reversed, and it stayed open but only when completely empty.]What happened to a dedicated butter compartment? This was useful for storing small containers as well as butter.On the plus side, this unit is, so far, quiet; the interior lights are bright.Although there are some positives, I did not expect the level of disappointment with the current product ™" it is cheaply made and poorly designed.

I have only had this refrigerator in place for three weeks. It is on the warmest setting and is freezing vegetables and liquids. It also makes a horrible noise every time the motor turns on to cool - sounds like metal balls dropping inside. I am very disappointed.

I™™ve had this refrigerator for almost two months. It™™s in my 1100 square foot open-concept condo. It looks great and works well, but I™™m really bothered by the loud popping noises that happen about every 30-60 min. I was told it™™s the defrost mechanism working. If my kitchen were in a two-story house with a separate kitchen, it wouldn™™t be a big deal, but in my small condo I hear it when I™™m watching TV and when I™™m in bed. It™™s pretty annoying. But the defrost does work well.

This refrigerator is the perfect size for our small kitchen. We love the sleek, smudge proof look. Nice and bright interior offers plenty of shelving, drawers and door space. Simple yet functional. I too was initially concerned about knocking sounds mentioned in previous reviews but the sounds are much quieter than I anticipated and do not bother us at all. I would definitely recommend this model for anyone looking for a nice looking, smaller sized refrigerator.

First the mystery: we bought this at Best Buy, where it was labeled FGTR1842TF. Had to fit in the space of the previous one, so I thought, oh well, a little too deep (a little over 2" deeper than the one it replaces), but close enough. The width and the height were right. Imagine how pleased I was when the refrigerator that got delivered had the dimensions of the FGHT1842TF instead! Frigidaire lists both of them, but I can't figure out why. They are virtually identical, even in carrying capacity, except for 2" greater depth in the external dimensions of the FGTR1842TF. Maybe the FGTR1842TF is an obsolete model?I was also a bit apprehensive of a review that mentioned loud noises. Including tapping sounds when cycling on. Well, after hearing it running and cycling, I think I may have figured out what the complaint was describing. The sounds when the refrigerator is running are very subdued, even muffled I'd say, certainly way quieter than our previous one. As quiet as any refrigerator I've ever experienced. When it starts, after several seconds, you do hear some slight "thermal adjustment" popping or maybe creaking sounds, as if the plastic surfaces inside are contracting slightly. That kind of sound. The noises last only seconds. Could possibly work itself out over time, but honestly, I'm describing this is an utterly quiet kitchen right now. It made similar sounds when first turned on, as the temperatures stabilized from when it was delivered. After several minutes of running, that initial time, sort of creaking sounds, surfaces adjusting to the temperature change. So far, nothing close to disturbing or troubling.Nice finish, gray vinyl sides and top, beautiful stainless doors, clean, bright look inside, nice LED light even in the freezer, just the interior volume we need. The two Best Buy delivery guys were great at getting it through relatively tight spaces, with an ingenious two-man harness that gave them a lot of flexibility (no dolly needed indoors). They were meticulous at installing handles, removing the protective plastic wrap, adjusting it to be level side to side, while tilting slightly to the back, to allow doors to close securely. Everything done just as the installation instructions stipulate. All in all, great experience, glad to have made the purchase.

I bought this at a Frigidaire showroom nice looking top freezer refrigerator but when it was delivered and hooked up, and every time the refrigerator Cycles it makes a tapping noise like two drumsticks tapping on your kitchen counter for about 15 seconds every time the refrigerator starts. Also when the ice maker lets water in it is very noisy also so imagine living in a small house trying to watch TV and you got this thing in your kitchen disturbing you all night long

After 2 weeks the defroster quit working and the fresh food area doesn™™t keep food cold. Frigidaire has sent someone to repair. Will take 2 weeks to get part. I like the style and large bins in door. Disappointed in purchase.

I bought this fridge on month ago. The fingerprint resistant surface is great. I love the shelves on the door. Good size and space. The glass shelf slides out easily and is convenient. Quiet too.
