Surprisingly roomy

My husband and I had an old 16cu too mount and we were constantly running out of freezer space. We also do not have a water hook up, so this fridge was perfect. The freezer has much more space and the fresh food section as well has a lot of room. Initially the shelf situation looked disappointing and I wasn™€™t sure how it was going to work but it™€™s surprisingly roomy! Love it! I did also want it in white but was unavailable through my supplier so I will be wrapping it. (Yes, white appliances are still in demand)

Now that I have had time to use and store things in my refrigerator, I am not quite sure what the "fresh" storage space is on the door? I mean, its so small, what would I put in there that wouldn't be so heavy it would tear that clear plastic container off the door? As well, I find that the second shelf, despite having the ability to slide a portion of it to the back to create space for larger/taller items, isn't really sufficient space for all those tall bottles/items. Would have been nice to have had that additional space on the second fridge door for that, but instead I have something there that I can't figure out what I would use it for . . . . .

Not the best experience I™€™ve had™€¦

I purchased this in July and finally received it in September. After it was delivered and installed I was happy. After a couple of days I noticed condensation behind the plastic for the controls. Figuring it was new I would give it a few days for it to clear out. It did not. The problem only got worse till water started to drip from behind the buttons on to the shelves. I called Lowe™€™s and they directed me to call the manufacturer, which I did. The local appliance tech came out, disassembled the controller only to pour out more water. He didn™€™t know where the water was coming from as he inspected the interior and seal. He placed a new board on order due to the original being soaked with water. Replacing the board will not fix the root cause but maybe he will have a fix upon his return to install the new board.

Having had a 17 year old 36" model, when I moved, I wanted what I had left behind, but a 30" due to space constraints. This has been a disappointment for the finish, but I was living with it, I until it completely died yesterday. I lost everything. $2600 for 2.5 years? Horrible.

Disappointing. Even though it is supposed to have the same capacity as my old Whirlpool, the way it's designed doesn't give as much space as the old one. The "fresh vue" container serves no useful purpose as far as I can see and on the left door takes up the space of 2 shelves which would be more useful. A chat with customer service to ask what this should be used for did not provide an answer. The deli drawer isn't deep enough to accommodate a wedge of cheese and one of the fruit and vegetable bins is so small, it can hold only small items like tangerines. The space between the top of those bins and the next shelf is very narrow. The door shelves on the right side can hold only two half gallon containers of milk. The divider in the lower freezer drawer isn't adjustable and won't come out so storage there is compromised. The ice bin takes up a good portion of the slide out shelf and I seriously doubt the average household needs that much ice on a daily basis. I removed it and shut off the icemaker to give more room for the products I need to store. On the positive side, the interior water dispenser saves space and the unit is quiet and seems to hold the temperature well. In conclusion, whoever designed the interior apparently doesn't have a lot of familiarity with the size and shape of items needing refrigeration and freezing. I expected more from a Kitchenaid product.

The good: The interior water dispenser saves space and the textured door handles prevent fingerprints from showing. The unit is quiet and keeps food at the correct temperature The disappointing: Even though this model is the same size as a previously owned Kenmore (Whirlpool) it has a lot less space in both the refrigerator and freezer sections. Large items are not easily accommodated even when the shelves are slid back. The "fresh vue" bin on the left door is a total waste of space. A shelf would be much more useful. The fruit and vegetable bins are small and the deli drawer isn't deep enough to hold a wedge of cheese. Having a movable divider in the freezer would have been preferable to the fixed one in this model. Metal shelf standards instead of the molded shelf supports in the refrigerator section would give more flexibility. The user manual focuses mainly on installation not adequately describing the features. Even customer service could not tell me what to use the "fresh vue" door bin for and could only supply a photo showing it seems to be used for storing herbs. I expected a lot more from a KitchenAId product. The people who designed the interior of this product do not seem to be aware of the size of many of the items one stores in a refrigerator.

Uneven temps, flimsy interior

I purchased this refrigerator along with two other KitchenAid appliances when I remodeled my kitchen. The exterior of the refrigerator looks nice, and I'm enjoying the ice maker and interior water dispenser. However, the interior temperature is inconsistent. I just measured a 44 degree temp of items kept on the top shelf, and a 33.4 degree temp of items on the bottom shelf. If I lower the temperature from the highest setting, items will freeze. The produce bins are in the lower part of the compartment, which is where temps are coldest. I've lost produce due to freezing, and I don't know what to do about that. The shelving is not very adjustable and it is hard to store tall items. The produce bins are very flimsy and don't even close to keep humidity in. The exterior looks nice, but from a performance standpoint, this is not a good fridge.

We bought a fridge almost a month ago. Since day one nothing but issues. The compressor is making loud noises. Called technician twice. Only answer. nothing wrong with the fridge. Have set fridge setting to level 4 out of 5. Maximum temp 5 degrees C. Would not recommend this product to anyone.

We really love Kitchenaid appliances, but this refrigerator is disappointing. We didn™€™t realize until we had it installed how really small the refrigerator section is. We keep having to remove front items to get to the back items because the shelf clearances are very tight. Also, the left door doesn™€™t automatically close. We have to open the right door so the left door can close all the way. We still can™€™t find the alert sounds when the door is left open too long. We™€™ll deal with all this, but shouldn™€™t have to.

On nous demande de payer 150$ pour une visite de technicien sans aucune garantie de rÃparation ni de remplacement. Nous ne ferons plus jamais confiance à cette compagnie. - Fait constamment du bruit - Peu importe les rÃglages choisis, l'arrière congèle toujours les aliments, ce qui fait en sorte qu'une partie du rÃfrigÃrateur n'est pas utilisable - Tiroirs se referment mal et restent bloquÃs : il faut les vider au complet pour pouvoir les rÃinstaller correctement jusqu'à temps qu'ils se bloquent de nouveau - Les autres commentaires sont vrais : la finition est dÃsolante avec des traces de colle à plusieurs endroits.

Layout of the fridge is odd, takes alot more moving items around to squeeze in weekly grocery trips. Crisper drawers are always slightly open. Lighting is very bright.

I bought this item as a replacement for the exact same model that failed after 10+ years. It fits perfectly in a tough spot. When installed one side was slumping. I was promised a tech would contact me to schedule an appointment to help sagging door. Nothing.

Kitchen Aid is Good!

I love Kitchen Aid appliances. My old Kitchen Aid side by side lasted 21 years. Good old faithful! I am now getting use to French doors and bottom freezer. So far so good. There are cracks in the bottom drawer of the freezer. The dealer said they would order new and replace. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Bad service and more problems

Bought the fridge in May '23. In June '25, the compressor died. Took 2 weeks to get the fridge fixed. We had to buy a small fridge and freezer to survive !!! The tech replace the compressor and, now, the fridge is making a loud and constant noise that seems to come from the gas circulating. I told the tech but he answered "That is normal, it is specify in the user manual" !!! He also mentionned that Kitchen Aid (Whirlpool) had problems with the original compressors so, the new one are more powerfull. The noise is very "nerve breaking" and we can't accept that answer ("It is normal"). I strongly suggest that you look into a different manufacturer since the service with Wirlpool is not what we should expect.

I love this refrigerator! So much space and the ability to adjust the shelves are wonderful. There is lots of room and this has become my prep fridge. I keep my salad fixings and healthy snacks in here. Awesome features!

I had the refrigerator delivered by Home Depot over a month ago. During the first several days, I couldn™€™t get the temperature to drop below 37°F, and I even considered replacing it. However, after a few more days of running, the temperature performance improved significantly. Now, I™€™m very happy with this refrigerator.

Buyer Beware of Estimated Delivery Date

Placed an order for this refrigerator and scheduled delivery for the next week. It took me reaching out to customer support to find that the item is on backorder. No order confirmation email, no status updates, or any subsequent communication. I highly advise looking to other brands, or at the very least buying your appliance from another, more reliable retailer.

Warning - Terrible quality!

Purchased this refrigerator August 2024 and finally got it delivered October 2024. The quality of this product is terrible. The interior is so fragile a water bottle will crack it! I've had a frozen foods drop on my 20 year old fridge in the garage and they bounce off. This 8 month old fridge cannot handle a water bottle! I would recommend anyone stay away from this refrigerator. The quality and craftsmanship are just not there. I don't know if the warranty would even cover this but there's definitely a weak spot at the bottom of the fridge. Another issue is that it doesn't cool at the default setting. I turned it up 1 level higher and the vegetables in the crisper froze!. I had to turn it back to the default just so they would not get ruined. My overall experience with this fridge has been negative and has changed my opinion of KitchenAid. If I could, I'd give this zero stars!

I purchased this refrigerator in 2021 and I should of refused delivery. Since day one I've had problems. From rusting stainless steel to broken shelves and drawers to cooling system default, to freezer drawer not closing properly. Dealing with customer service has been a nightmare. I've spent hours on the phone, only to be transferred to multiple departments and put on hold for what feels like an eternity. And when I finally do get through to someone only to get zero assistance with the issue. This refrigerator has been a colossal waste of money. It fails at its basic function, is poorly designed, and is backed by a company that clearly doesn't care about its customers. If you're considering buying a kitchenaid refrigerator, I urge you to reconsider.

Happy with our new refrigerator.

Pretty happy with our new refrigerator and stove. The interior layout is excellent and installation was easy, plug and play. We did not install the ice maker and water dispenser. Just something we would seldom if ever use. My only criticism is the high pitched noise from what I am guessing is a motorized vent. We have a very small house and our TV room is right next to the fridge. It can be annoying at times.

Makes the darn bins from a quality material!! So many reviews tell you this yet you still have thin cheap bins that also fall off their tracks!!! This brand is your top brand™€¦ show it, make it that way, be fair to your customers! I was not able to see this refrigerator in store as it is special order. Otherwise may have gone with Bosch!! Generally like. Please hear me kitchen aide! Do something about the cheap plastic bins! You are supposed to be top of line of the three brands you produce. I expected what I paid for. These bins are disgraceful!! They are thin, doubt if they will hold up and large one comes off track all the time! I do like the in fridge water feature.

Great Fit Without Giving Up Features

I had to replace a French door refrigerator that had reached its "end of life." Given the limitations of available space I feared I wouldn't find another French door replacement (the existing refrigerator that came with the condo was crammed into the niche). This Kitchenaid refrigerator is a great fit. Although a little smaller than the old fridge, I've managed to find locations for everything and still have a water dispenser and ice maker. So far so good!

Pathetic product and terrible customer service

Back ordered in November and was so excited to finally have delivered in early January. Worked for three weeks before it started leaking. Took two weeks to get a kitchenaid warranty technician to show up. Said it was a loose hose and was fixed. I™€™m currently now waiting another two weeks for a technician since it started leaking again not long after he left. The interior is nice and it looks good from the outside but I won™€™t be buying anything whirlpool branded again.

Good for small spaces

We bought this fridge to replace an older fridge in the house that we just purchased. I love the size of the freezer and the seperate compartments. The vegetable and fruit compartments are a little on the small side though and the container that holds the packets to keep your veggies fresher for longer never stays attatched. I do like the slim drawer on the bottom for meats. The door shelving is a okay but I find that you can not fully utilize them due to spacing between shelves. The Fresh Vue bin is a great idea however mine does not close, well it closes but then you cannot open it. I have contacted Customer Service and they sent out a brand new one and the issue is the same. I have also sent a video of the problem to technical support and I have not heard from anyone. This is a shame because there is alot of unusable space because of this issue. I do love the water dispenser, it is nice to not have to buy bottled water or an additional filtration system. The fridge is good for small spaces.

Fridge problems one by one

Kincardine, Ontario We bought this fridge 2.5 year ago. We loved this fridge until the problem started. From time to time we have heard some cracking (noises) but not being aware that the noises are coming from the fridge. During the Christmas holiday (2024) we have discovered that the fridge has not working. We have contacted right away the store where we have bought the fridge and have gotten a telephone number of the licence registered repair guy who has arrived at the same day, has checked the fridge and has advised that evaporator has gone The repair guy has not had the part (system) to fix it and has provided another telephone number of the licence company registered for repairs. Upon contacting the licence company we have been advised that the part is coming from USA and we have to wait. On January 17, 2025 two licence guys came and fixed the Fridge. The fridge has been working until January 20, 2025. We contacted the licence company again and the same licence repair guys have come today, checked the fridge and confirmed that the compressor is gone and we have to wait for a new compressor. They have advised that they will come to fix the fridge as soon they get the new compressor from the warehouse. We are going through very inconvenient i stressful time for almost a month. We deserve to get a new fridge instead of fixing problems one by one. Who knows what is the next problem coming once the new compressor is in. Very very disappointed with this brand.

Compressor broke after a month and a half

The compressor broke a month and a half after having it although the repair guy was great the KitchenAid Company when I called and explained the situation to them did not pass it on to the repair guy so when he arrived and I told him it was the compressor in the sound he goes that™€™s not at all what they told me so now I have to go order the part and I™€™ll be back on Friday and that was on Monday and it broke on Saturday and they weren™€™t open on the weekend so we didn™€™t have refrigerator and I had to wait till Monday to let them know they didn™€™t pass on the correct information so the repair guy came unprepared and he said well that was a waste of my time and yours. He was very friendly and so it™€™s a shame they didn™€™t pass on the correct information and it™€™s wrong that it should™€™ve broken a month and a half after getting it, but I am very happy with the repair guy who came and did fix it. He was able to get the part earlier and he was able to come earlier. He came on Wednesday and fixed. It said give it 48 hours before filling it out to get working and get cold I recommend the repair guy not KitchenAid refrigerator or the KitchenAid repair center for how they didn™€™t pass along what was actually wrong with it.
