Bought this machine at a trade fair in 2006. Machine is still in very good working order albeit a leak which I am yet to repair myself. This machine was operating almost on a daily basis as we live in a flat and do all the drying in a dryer machine. To prolong the life of machine, you have to use low sud detergent meant for front loader and also the minimum amount (experience). I have not used the heating function on this washer before and am now considering using it. However I would like to know the capacity of the water during wash cycle so that I can calculate the time taken to heat up to 80 degree C.

I own this machine since 2008. It is so called "Energy Star". Meaning that it does not have pre-soak feature and really hot water program. Of course, you never know how much energy you have saved, if any because there are a lot of different other electrical appliances around. Sometimes I have to was by hand or to use my stove range to wash in hot water. And we had to fix it twice. Very disappointing.

We are on our THIRD water pump replacement- each one caused by a coin, each one caused by a different tennant in our unit. AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE OF A DESIGN!-Not to mention that the control board where you choose the options is no longer functioning. Maytag needs to retire this and take responsibility- I guess they want to keep those repair men in business.

You are unable to do heavy loads. My drum just broke to the tune of $270 plus a bearing that is $190 plus $175 labor. The symptoms were the drum was loose moving up and down with lots of noise. Now I'm looking for another washer! Very important to use low suds detergent!

Headaches after 4 or 5 years

I had it less than 4 months and a quarter left in my pocket put the machine right out of order. Luckily under warranty still. Just after the warranty ran out the control board went wanky and an inlet valve had to be replaced - cost $400.Did not pay to get it fixed, because after the $50 visit to look at it it would have cost $450. Could buy a new one for another $150.I got 2-3 years out of it, so at $200. a year is it worth it. I read many other reviews where it started having major problems after 4 or 5 years too. Up to you I guess.

This washer is awesome! It uses 1/5 the soap and reduces water usage. It takes a little getting used to for some people who think "more is better" My clothes are just as clean but much softer since there's less soap to be rinsed out and not being left in the fabric. So needless to say it's a money saver. For a space-saver it really has surprising capacity. It fits perfectly in our "stacked" laundry closet in our retirement park model home! Love it!!

We got the washer for a patio home and knew it was not full-sized but there are just the two of us. Work clothes, week-end, towels and it works fine. Service has been GREAT. Nothing wrong except that we were using the HE liquid detergent amount recommended by TIDE. They sell soap and it wasn't getting washed out and took longer to dry. Reduced soap, improved washing and clothes are softer.

I bought this new with my house. It broke 6 months later with a problem with the electronics board. 2 1/2 years later broke again - this time wouldn't respond / restart / let the door open. My clothes are currently locked in the washer with water , and I can't get them out. This washer is a nightmare.

This washer has a bit less capacity but like cars, you pay less in the long run for the smaller capacity. With 10 cycles I can always get my clothes clean without damaging them. The big selling point about this machine is the savings on my water bill. Water is expensive where I live and I hate paying big water bills. I have to plan my wash loads better, but if I do that I don't have any problems with the capacity of this machine. The one thing I can't wash is large blankets. I couldn't do that before so I don't really miss it.I was pleasantly surprised by how clean my clothes get in this machine. I thought using less water might mean less clean but this machine is well designed so it does an excellent job cleaning my clothes.The Quality of this machine is really nice. It's well designed like all Maytag products. I haven't have any problems with it yet and I've had it for 2 years.I bought the Maytag H.E. MDE2400AYW dryer and stacked it on top of the washer so my water/electric bills are excellent. The improvement over my last washer/dryer is simply fantastic. I sacrifice a bit with the smaller capacity but the savings are well worth it. So I have to plan out my wash a bit more but that's nothing compared to what I used to pay for water.Overall, I think I got a great deal. I'd recommend this washer to anyone willing to save on their bills and wants really clean clothes.

Purchase in Dec 2010 Feb 2011, 2 months later they had to rebuild the washer. Washer was down for 2 weeks while they got parts. Now it is Nov. 2011 and it is broke again.

This washer replaced a Danby washer. Its motor went out and I couldnt get a replacement part from this Canadien company. After 3 months without a washer and needing a compact one, I am completely satisfied with this unit. It is one of the best washers I have used and knowing that it is compact and energy star compliant I realize that it will take longer to wash clothes than would a conventional washer. I can live with that and am completely happy with my purchase!

I bought this new 1 1/2 years ago. It was extremely noisy and not enough water through the cycle to clean the wash. I had to manually add water each time I washed.Yesterday the washer stopped completely-and after spending $85.00 to have the technician come for service- he stated that the drum bearing was broken, the motor was not working correctly, and the computer chip was registering the problem incorrectly. ( E3) It would have cost over $300.00 more to fix this then to buy a new one!I would not recommend this washer at ALL!

This machine was a replacement for a similar sized Whirlpool washer that the factory service company was not able to repair (it wouldn't spin all the time).I am very happy with the machine. I wish that I would have purchased a Maytag to begin with.

I love this washing machine. I needed one to fit into a townhome that only could have a certain width machine. Actually, after going to several different stores, this was the only washing machine available that actually fit into the space! At that time I had not considered a front loader, but I love it. It has so many different settings from big heavy loads to delicates. I am so glad that this is what I ended up "having" to buy to fit the space; otherwise, I may not have even thought about this machine. So far, no problems. I would recommend this machine to anyone. And I would buy it again!

Our house was built in the 1950's and our "Laundry room" is a small closet so this was pretty much our only option for a washer that would fit. Although we were initially concrned about capacity, we find that it holds more laundry than we initially expected. We are pleased with this washer!

I would recommend this product even though it's washing capacity is quite low!! We had to have a service call right after installation as the door was either "jarred" in shipping or in the installation process, but it was fixed to our satisfaction.If you ask my opinion about the matching dryer, I would not have nice comments!! This dryer was installed on February 7th, 2011 but not used until May 1st (as we were away until thne). Since May 1st, we have had 4 service calls on this dryer. The most recent one was to replace the entire control panel. There are 2 adult people in this household!! So surely the washer and dryer are not being over-used!! Over all, not a good experience with this Maytage Washer and Dryer.
