The refrigerator/freezer never got cold after 24 hours. Food lost. Freezer made it hard to find things. Had my KitchenAid for 13.5 years and as Whirlpool build's KitchenAid thought I was getting a great product. Returned to store and got a KitchenAid side by side. Lemons do occur. New KitchenAid is working great.

I bought this brand because I was told by the repair man looking at my broken 3 year old Kenmore that Whirlpool was the best. It fits nice because it is counter deep, but the plastic drawers are warped and the door to access the water filter won't close. I have the temperature set at 36 degrees, but my cheese will get moldy faster than it should.

Owned this unit for a year now, after a disappointing LG, they tried to fix it three times but I requested my money back and I gotta say Samsung and Lg have too many electronics to go wrong! I went for this Whirlpool due to its simpler features and elegant styling, seems to have more room for us but I do like the auto fill and the small ice cubes, makes them faster than regular size. The look doesn't get old, but the drawers seem a little chincy but serve the purpose, very happy with this unit!

For the price of this fridge, it is not worth the money. The ice maker had to be replaced within 13 months and based on the other 3 whirlpool we purchased as a 4 piece appliance suite, this will soon break again. We have had repairs on each of the 4 whirlpool appliances within 13-15 months. Whirlpool will not deal with you after your one year manufacturer warranty is up. There are slight signs of rust on the door already and the words "ice" and "water" and just stickers, not etched into the metal, so they rub off ij a few months. Just poor quality products ans whirlpool definitely does not stand behind their products.

My wife and I recently completely remolded our kitchen and included all new appliances. Among the biggest disappointments was this Whirlpool refrigerator. We knew something was wrong when meat stored on the top shelf spoiled within two days. After complaints to Lowe's, they sent a technician to check the problem. He finally ordered a new component for the temperature control, which was installed. Meanwhile we purchased two refrigerator thermometers to keep track of the temperature variations on the various shelves and compartments. At the recommended 37 degrees for the refrigerator, we found a range of around 40 degrees at the top shelf and below 30 degrees for the lower shelves and compartments. The freezer is set for the recommended 0 degrees and thankfully it maintains this temperature. Also there was a plastic door over the water filter which was broken when the refrigerator was delivered. The technician also ordered this part and it was installed but it still did not work. He could not fix it so we were basically told to live with it. I recently read another review of this refrigerator which stated it was "an expensive piece of junk" and I concur. . . . .

I bought the fridge in November. It was backordered repeatedly until April. We waited 5 months for it. And that was just the beginning... By the end of June, so after using the fridge for only 2 months, the refrigerator started causing problems. It was tripping the circuit breaker repeatedly. We contacted customer service (waited on hold for at least 30 minutes) and the first appointment we could get was 2 weeks away. So we lost all the groceries, plus had to take a day off to wait for service. Unfortunately, the service person was unable to fix it, and needed to order a part. They were scheduled to come back a week or two later. That date was then pushed out another week because they didn't have a repair person available. Our fridge wasn't repaired until mid August. Unacceptable. And we're still not done dealing with this... The day before Thanksgiving, the same problem started up again. Fridge tripped the circuit repeatedly. (It was not overloaded and not the electrical.) We were able to call for an "emergency" service appointment scheduled for Friday (today) between 10-2. It's now 3:10 and no one has showed up. I called the factory service number at 2:05, and I've been on hold for over an hour (and counting...) as I type this. While on hold, I've been calling the regular customer service line and the online chat, and no one is able to help me. Apparently the only way to get in touch with the service company is to call this one number that I've been on hold with for an hour... ridiculous. So another day off of work wasted, and another stressful experience and no one is able to help. Bottom Line: Terrible refrigerator and even worse customer service. Do not buy. (And do not go with Whirlpool.)

Fridge worked for a little over a month, the temp readings on the inside of the door then went out and the fridge turned into a giant freezer. Had to wait 2 weeks for parts after the service tech came out the first time. The tech installed 3 sets of components to completely replace the controls. Worked for a day and back to the controls out and fridge into a freezer. Tech was already going to be coming back out because the water tank busted wen it froze. Now he has reordered the controls to try again and will be another 2 weeks without the fridge. Now we wont have a fridge for Thanksgiving......

Do not buy it's a lemon!

I purchased this item back in November of 2017 for a delivery of February 1, 2018. I should have know when I received a call from whirlpool in December to inform me that the item was back ordered till April that this was a bad sign! However, because our kitchen renovations were taking a little longer and whirlpool offered me a $300 Visa card for the inconvenience I accepted. The refrigerator was working fine until August. I called to tell them that the problems we were expecting was it no longer would make Ice. In September they sent out a repair Mann to fix the ice maker that didn't work so then they sent someone out again at the end of September and he looked at it and replaced one Moreno price that don't work they again had a repair Man out in October the repair company called and spoke directly with a whirlpool service support technician and told them what item to order. When they came back again at the end of October they found out it was again the wrong part! Becoming extremely difficult for me to keep calm since now that is 4 days I've taken out of work to get this refrigerator "fixed" I spoke again with a supervisor and in service and they assured me that they were ordered the right part this time I was very clear and actually questioned them as the part they said i needed was the right door! I asked again are you sure because ithe ice maker is located on the left door! They assured me yes! They made an exception for me and expedited the order to have the door shipped to me in 10 business days! Yes, I received the door within that time however, no surprise to me it's the wrong door! I have now waited since August to get this item fixed to no avail! What a disappointment and how embarrassing for whirlpool! While on hold you will notice how they keep repeating "your satisfaction is our top priority " not sure who they are trying to convince of me or them? I've asked for them to send me a new fridge, at this point unfortunately they will not! They claim I need to give them the opportunity to fix the problem. I ask you whirlpool how many opportunities does it take for you to get it right? Certainly 5 is not enough! With the amount of personal days I've had to take out and work missed, I have paid for this refrigerator twice in time off alone! Completely lost faith in customer service with Whirlpool their supervisor employees clearly are not able execute a simple task of ordering and sending the right products! They should take more time in actually giving service than worries about how to handle dissatisfaction verbally! Completely discouraged!

We bought the fridge in December of 2016. 6 months after purchase we noticed the fridge was not holding a temperature. We lost all the food that was in the fridge and waited 3 weeks for a new part to come in to the tech can fix it. After the part was received the fridge AGAIN will not hold a temperature 2 months later, AGAIN I lost food, and was unable to use my fridge for 3 weeks because we were waiting for the parts. Not only was this the 2nd time BUT it was during the holidays. I called the warranty company and they had no answer or empathy for this. THEN after this piece was replaced for a 2nd time our ice machine was not making ice. Again, we had to wait weeks for the piece to come in. After the tech came he was able to replace it but it stopped working a week later. The techs themselves have no idea on why the fridge is not working. They even switched the techinan company, which DID NOT WORK. They are shooting in the dark! And today we had to call the company again because the fridge won't hold a temperature, the ice machine won't make any ice and water is not dispensing. I called multiple times when do replacing parts is enough and the entire fridge itself is replaced. Since I've had this fridge it has been nothing more than headaches. I need action to be done. I called the warranty company and they informed e after the 3rd time the lemon law will come in and I will get what my fridge is worth to replace it. By the looks of it, before the dem this as a lemon law it will be worth NOTHING. THIS IS ABSURED.

Happy with our purchase. The lighting inside of the fridge is really great and I like the size of the ice cubes it produces. The freezer is a bit on the small side but over all this fridge is a great addition to our kitchen. The counter depth really makes it look upgraded. I would say the biggest con is the speed of the water dispenser. Water shoots out very fast causing the water to splash out of your cup.. And the positioning of the water spout is oddly close to the part where your cup pushes for water, causing water to spill on the floor as well. We have not yet used the favorite fill feature

We have had this fridge for 5 months. It works well. I especially like the in door water and ice dispensers. There is a tray that pulls out to hold large containers or tea pots. The ice dispenser is a bit challenging. But once you realize that ice continues to flow after you release the lever you keep from having ice fall on the floor. Just have a little patience and hold the glass under the ice drop until the ice that was already dispensed makes it into the glass. Overall I love this unit.

DO NOT PURCHASE!!! Notice all the reviews with 4-5 stars only have had their fridge for a month or less. I waited 4 months for this fridge to only be completely disappointed. I got it in April to find out that it wouldn't cool. They did correct it by sending me a second fridge which I received on May 7th. My ice maker stopped working in September. They sent another one and it's doing the exact same thing. Yet again I have to schedule another tech to come take a look at it before anything can be done.

Third time for the exact same problem. Now I have to reach out to Whirlpool and get them to send a tech out. Then will diagnose what I already know it is. They will order the same part they did last time, wait for it to be delivered to the tech and then schedule the install. Total loss of work is six half days plus no ice for about ten weeks of the ten months we have had this unit. The layout is fantastic but it is a piece of junk that I paid $4000 for. No more Whirlpool for me

Love the size. Hate the quality. We bought this fridge 1.5 years ago and had to have it fixed twice now. The ice makers (both) quit working abd eventually the fridge freezes completely causing it to not cool at all, much like a frozen HVAC unit would do. Repair man says whirlpool is aware of the issue and it is ongoing. However they want customers to pay for the warranty or pay out of pocket. Fortunately they have covered the cost for me both times. But I feel like it's only a matter of time before this happens again. And according to the repair man, it will. Once this happens again we will NOT buy another Whirlpool. We have lost food, time from work and had a lot of inconvenience from this issue. Not having ice in the middle of summer is a huge issue!! Not to mention the drawer in the freezer gets off track every time we open it.

I bought this refregirator or a similar model 3 years ago because I wanted something reliable. A little over a year later the ice maker stopped working. The company told me you have to replace the part and you shouldv'e bought the warrenty. Now almost 3 years since I bought it we woke up one morning and the only thing that works is the light. I called a repair man he told me the control board in the back is dead and has to be replaced. $500 not to mention the food I threw away and the inconvinous. DONT BUY AWHIRLPOOL REFREGERATOR.

Purchased this fridge in Black stainless with matching slide-in Gas Range and Dishwasher, (tried to buy matching 30" Range Hood in Black Stainless, but availability date was constantly bumped into perpetuity).... Fridge arrived, (Purchased through The Brick-Belleville), delivery guy's were great, and delivery was on time. Unpacked fridge, followed instruction's to a "T", lights came on, the compressor was running, all good, except...NO COLD AIR IN FRIDGE OR FREEZER...left running for 24 hour's, still nothing. Fortunately we bought the extended warranty through the Brick, so they came and picked up, dropped off a loaner fridge and now we wait...3-4 week's as black stainless is special order...should of read warnings about this model more closely on other website's...and as others have said, the depth is almost identical to the regular model, "Non-Counter depth-standard size".

Got this Fridge during a Black Friday sale at Home Depot. Loved it, however after only six months icemaker stopped working. After reading reviews, I concur this is a common problem. I hope Whirlpool steps up and ammends the issue.

Great space, but terrible product

Purchased in December 2016 from Costco with an extended warranty included, and am so lucky it was included. Nothing but trouble since 8-2017 when the door ice maker stopped working and the fridge and freezer were no longer cooling. Lost all of the food in both, not covered by Whirlpool. Had service come out and according to the repairman, he said he had to rig it to make it cool again. He also told me that Whirlpool said there was a recall for this but they did nothing about it. Icemaker was working after, but stopped 6-2018. Had a new ice maker installed and still not working. After 1 hour on the phone with Whirlpool for service they are sending out another repair company for a second opinion(more like a 3rd or 4th). Wonder how an inexpensive fridge would have worked if this one was $3,000.00 Totally disgusted and disappointed with Whirlpool.

Owned for 18 months and the compressor quit. After many complaints I finally got whirlpool to cover the parts only for a new compressor. I had to pay for labor (roughly half the $900) and no warranty given. 6 months later the whole thing died again. I'm replacing. $3,000 down drain. And the ice cubes are small, weak and melt fast. I do not recommend this fridge, despite the functionality.

As a mom of 6 I needed a frig w space. The first month this frig was great. Then started making a terrible noise. We had it repaired and still did it. Then they replaced with a new one. We were satisfied up until today about yr later it has stopped cooling. I have lost most of my food and now we are out over 3000 dollars. It has many issues with the cooling system. Whirlpool should recall it.

Worst fridge ever!

I bought this fridge in Feb 2017 and after 11 days it quit making ice and quit cooling. After 3 months of constant problems and countless services it was replaced. The new fridge came in May of 2017 and we have constantly had problems and services since then. It has stopped cooling once again. This has been the worst experience ever!

Almost a great fridge

Expect the letters for "Water" and "Ice" to vanish after about 30 days. Which I have found out is not covered by warranty. Cosmetic issues are handled only when reported within 30 days of purchase. This is not something you see on other $3,500 USD fridges. Other than that, probably one of the biggest fridges that is counter depth at 24 cu. ft. Beautiful fridge, ice is in the shape of a small cube, so keep note.

We were very excited to find this sleek, spacious, beautiful refrigerator to complete our updated kitchen. We needed a functional and reliable refrigerator /freezer combo and even bought the extended warranty from PC Richards to ensure its place in our household for many years to come. Then it slowly started to disintegrate. I am not exaggerating when I say those beautiful white shelves and drawers that gave us so many options for space started to BREAK APART! A piece of the white plastic edge broke off the crisper bin and pieces of the frame which house the deli compartment and drawers started to break off ! I even found little plastic wheels (resembling lifesaver candies) and plastic screws under the deli bin compartment. The overall result was the drawers don't close on the track properly and it now looks like a toddler put the wobbly drawers in the wrong compartments. I immediately called the service department who came out and said, "The warranty only covers parts that are not made of plastic". THE ENTIRE REFRIGERATOR IS MADE OF PLASTIC !!!!! Also, the lovely stainless finish has developed brown stains on the freezer compartment which resemble rust! Is this even possible?? We have only cleaned this refrigerator with the recommended stainless steel cleaner. The freezer compartment bin squeals like a stuck pig any time you open it. At least it is a warning to step away from the ice cream. PLEASE don't waste your money on this refrigerator!!!!!! As an elementary school teacher, I feel like this should be the last sentence in my book about this Whirlpool fridge: BEWARE what looks beautiful on the outside!

I've only owned this fridge a little over a month and it has numerous problems. First the ice and water dispenser don't work. When I initially installed the fridge they worked fine, but have since ceased functioning. Second the vegetables in the drawer near where the cool air comes in are frozen. Third, the meat in the deli drawer is frozen, and the things on the pull out tray above the vegetable drawers are near frozen as well. Fourth, the freezer recently just randomly filled up with frost and ice. I would definitely not recommend buying this fridge, it is possible that I got a lemon but this is a LOT of problems.
