The ice maker takes 2 hours to make 8 cubes. Not acceptable. Will now have to either buy a countertop ice maker or make my own cubes in the freezer. For a family of 5 this does not work. Why spend the extra money for an automatic ice maker if it can't produce.

We were coming from a similar model that was 20 years old. Even though it's actually tthe same cubic feet as the old one there is a lot more usable space because there is a lot more storage in the door. Maintains t3mperature well, but ther is a spot on the top shelf, in the back corner on the right side where milk freezes even though it doesn't freeze if stored in any other spot. It's also a bit more noisy than our old one.

Water dispenser and filter locations

The water dispenser paddle being in front of the ice dispenser paddle causes a problem, and would be better if it were side by side. We sometimes inadvertently hit the water dispenser when trying to get ice, and water spills out onto the side of the refrigerator. Sadly, it happens fairly frequently. Also, the filter is in an inconvenient place and it makes it more difficult to change. It would best inside the refrigerator (even though it would take up some space).

The ice dispenser is Very Loud! It does not get as cold as the 22 year old whirlpool that was replaced. The kick panel is terrible to get off because of the screws and the pinch clips appear to be gone and the water filter door has to be open to get the kick panel off, that cause the water filter to partially come out causing a problem getting everything back together.

Noisy refrigerator

Everything else about this side-by-side refrigerator has been fantastic. It's very spacious inside, easy to organize, and the ice maker has been working great. I've only had it for about a week, and overall I'm very happy with its features and appearance. The only downside™€"and it's a significant one™€"is the noise. The refrigerator is extremely loud. Whether the doors are open or closed, you can constantly hear the compressor or motor humming. We have a large, open kitchen, and when the house is quiet, the refrigerator is the only thing you can hear. The humming noise carries throughout the house and is much louder than I expected. We've already scheduled a Whirlpool service technician to inspect it because we're hoping this is a defect or something that can be repaired. If the technician determines that this is not normal, then hopefully it can be fixed. However, if this is simply how this model operates, I would not recommend it. Had I known it would be this noisy, I would have chosen a different refrigerator.

My first complaint is that the only option at the appliance store we shopped at for a "white" side by side fridge, was this one. Not everyone has updated to stainless and black, so that makes it some what difficult to find one that's just plain white. My second complaint is the warranty. You give $2,000 for a major appliance and all the manufacturers offer is a one year warranty. Ridiculous! You should get at least a 5 year warranty, parts and labor, on a major appliance from all manufacturers, unless they know their products are not made well, and won't last like the ones made back in the good ol' days. I used our credit union credit card which doubled the warranty. So now there's a 2 year warranty on it, which is still unfair. Now on to the fridge: Yes, it does look good, is well built, and works as it's supposed to. Wife complained constantly about the one we replaced. It wasn't perfect, but we could work around the issues. I told her you keep complaining about it, you're going to jinx it, and we're going to have to buy a new one. Was It her fault we had to buy a new one? Probably not. The one we replaced lasted 18 years even with its little idiosyncrasies, and that's very good. After all the complaints, I do like the new one. Just my Wife and I are home now, so it's plenty large for our needs. Now I hope it gives us years of trouble free service.

Overall, this refrigerator is okay, but there are a few design choices that really limit how satisfied I can be with it. One of the biggest drawbacks is the lighting inside the fridge. It is surprisingly dark, with only two small lights for the entire interior. This makes it difficult to see items clearly, especially toward the back or on lower shelves. For a modern appliance, I expected brighter, more evenly distributed lighting. Another disappointment is the lack of color options. I prefer a clean, elegant white-on-white look, but this model only comes with a black face, even when the rest of the body is white. The contrast feels out of place in my kitchen, and it™€™s frustrating that a full white option is no longer available. White appliances have a timeless, classic look, and it™€™s unfortunate that this style has been phased out. On the positive side, the refrigerator functions as expected and keeps food at the right temperature. It™€™s not a bad appliance ™€" just not as thoughtfully designed as it could be for the price. In summary: It™€™s an acceptable refrigerator, but the dim lighting is in my view a safety issue, and the limited color choices take away from what could have been a much better experience. If you prefer a bright interior and a fully white exterior, this model may not meet your expectations.

The refrigerator and freezer work fine, nice looking. The ice maker makes a clunking when you push lever for ice cubes, it is so loud that i am afraid it will break something. Had a repairman come check it out. He said it was normal. Hard for me to believe that whirlpool would make something like that. We are whirlpool customers for a long time. This refrigerator replaced a whirlpool that is 15 years old. all of our appliances are whirlpool. Disappointed in the operation of the ice maker. Dennis Bair

Refrigerator looks fine fits space well icemaker does not produce ice as well as it should interior space appears to be slightly smaller than our last refrigerator of similar size. Icemaker is noisy when dispensing ice and doesn™€™t produce ice fast enough to fill tub. had to buy a bag of ice and put in the tub so icemaker could keep up with usage. Last refrigerator was Elba model by Fisher/Paykel.

Just installed a week ago, so pretty early to tell, but so far I like it. I was disappointed that "white" was so much more expensive than stainless steel. My kitchen has a vintage 1940's Chambers white porcelain stove along with a white porcelain sink, so S/S wouldn't look right.

The refrigerator does its job as far as cooling and freezing but we're not happy with the shelf adjustment increments. Our old refrigerator that this one replaced had shelf adjustments on one inch increments which was great. Much to our dismay the shelves on this one have adjustments on about 6 inch increments, thus limiting the customizing of the shelves to our liking. Also, the ice dispenser makes very awkward to fill a drinking glass or container if the container is taller than the distance between the shelf and the ice dispenser. Also, there was very little tubing provided out the back of the refrigerator to connect up to our water supply line for the ice maker and water dispenser.

My husband and I bought this refrigerator a little over four years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. Twice the coils in the back of the refrigerator froze and our refrigerator stopped working all together. We lost most of our food both times and had to have a company come in to fix it. Not to mention that the ice dispenser just drops ice cubes out of the refrigerator on its own ....we always have to be careful if we are out and come home to find water on the floor where an ice cube fell out and melted. I would never, ever buy a Whirlpool refrigerator again.

Was taking too long to make the ice but discovered it was my fault. The top shelf in freezer is shorter than the others but I had stuffed it full anyhow. Finally figured out that is what was holding up the making of ice. That gap is to allow air flow. My stuff was blocking the air vent. Once I made room for air to flow, it made the ice! Also, other people complained about water dripping. Thankfully mine does not drip.

Nice to have a new fridge

We purchased this fridge a month ago and we are fairly pleased with it. There are a couple of things that are annoying. The fridge is on wheels but they don't lock so it moves when you open it. We have solved it by inserting some shims discretely at the front. Second, the right hand door creaks and swings open every time we open it, We have worked on the height adjustment for the feet but it isn't intuitive and we are unable to resolve this. Third, the instruction manual does not reflect the model we have and turning on the ice maker didn't match instructions in the manual and on the fridge, there was a QR code, on the ice maker that we scanned that linked us to a video with directions. We are on a remote cay in the Bahamas so unlikely to get a warranty service call for my other two complaints.

Somewhat unhappy with this appliance since I have nothing but whirlpool appliances (microwave, cooking stove, dishwasher) in my kitchen. For a 25 cuft refrigerator/freezer it doesn™€™t seem to have the space of my old 25 cuft unit. The shelves in freezer are very sharp on the edges and can cause issues with my hands. Also, reside sh are not very accomondating for beverage space and the top shelf normally used for butter/margarine lacks a good covering!

To me it's a basic refrigerator. Nothing special. I'm more concerned about it's reliability. The one thing I don't like is the bottom where the vents are. It looks unfinished, as though a piece is missing. Had I looked at it in the store and not just purchased it off the internet from Loews I would not have bought it. Esthetically it's lacking. Fingers crossed quality is good.

4 Year Old WRS325SDHW01 Falling Apart

This is another chapter in my 4-5 yr Whirlpool Horror Story. This unit is barely 4 yrs old. Unlike my Whirlpool range whose paint began to peel and began to rust or my horror show Whirlpool washer and dryer that did the same until Lowes Extended warranty gave up on them and sent me a new Whirlpool washer and dryer after 3 yrs , of which the washer is starting to rust after one year, this fridge was an angel until a year ago, Rust began to appear by the water dispenser around a year ago, then suddenly on 9/7/2025 I was making crushed ice and heard a loud noise inside the freezer. The icemaker had fallen off it's rail and landed crashing down into the ice bucket making a large hole. I called Whirlpool this morning and not suprisngly they would do nothing for me.

We had to buy what was on hand at the store as our Amanda refrigerator stopped. On the front where the water and ice comes out looks like it™€™s not finished. If you spill a little it runs right down the front door. The ice maker is very, very loud. We wish we had option to move shelves but we are adjusting to it.

This refrigerator was installed about a week and a half ago. It started up just fine once the water line was added it started making ice. Overall this unit seems to be quieter than the one it replaced. It's running fine the shelves and compartments are conveniently located. Did take us a little while to figure out what that wire rack was. It's a beverage container. Nothing in the paperwork showed it or mentioned it. Had to look online to get the info. I would actually give it a four and a half, would have been a five except for the broken butter door. Whirlpool is sending a replacement at no cost. I really appreciate that.

This refrigerator isn't getting cold inside.

This refrigerator was not getting cold. We had it replaced. The new one isn't getting cold as it should. We did trouble shooting. We cannot figure out how to lower the temperature. It is not user friendly. Our next step is to call the warranty company. We definitely have buyer's remorse.

Not as good fridge / un-reliable ice-maker

I bought this 36-inch side-by-side Whirlpool refrigerator in 2021, and giving it 2 stars due to persistent low quality and reliability problems since the. Here are some of the main problems: A) The storage cabinets are difficult to pull in and out; B) I had to replace one storage cabinet on the fridge side already due to problems with the original one. C) The ice maker has often stopped working, requiring constant trouble-shooting. The ice-maker again stopped working this week. I tried re-setting the ice-maker following the (actually helpful trouble-shooting support video by Whirlpool), but the ice-maker is non-responsive. I called Whirlpool technical support, and they quoted me a $490 cost for a one-time visit repair. The actual ice-maker part sold by Whirlpool costs $248, so quite expensive compared to the total cost of the original refrigerator (around $1000 back in 2021).
