When we moved into our house we made the mistake of choosing LG for all of our new appliances: dishwasher microwave/stove Fridge washer and dryer. There is a reason their warranty isnt great 1 year and thats because they dont have enough confidence in their product to offer a longer warranty Its been 14 months and already the dishwasher has had to have the control panel replaced the fridge continues to go into defrost mode with the added bonus of having to dump all of your ice out so it doesnt melt and leak all over your floor and the stove has had to be reset. Customer service is outsourced to a foreign country so that adds frustration to frustration. Stay away.

Great Performance Quiet and Energy Efficient

Ive been using the LG LDFN4542S dishwasher for a while and it has been an excellent addition to my kitchen. Its incredibly quiet which is perfect for running even during the evening. Additionally it saves both water and electricity which is great for keeping utility bills low. The size is just right and the interior has plenty of space for all kinds of kitchen items from large pots and pans to delicate dishes. The layout is versatile and makes loading very convenient. The only downside is the capacitive touch buttons. While they look sleek they are very sensitive and can be activated by anything that touches them not just fingers. This has caused a few accidental presses which can be frustrating at times. Overall the LG LDFN4542S is a fantastic dishwasher with great performance and energy efficiency but the touch buttons could use some improvement.

Im writing this review as of 9/24. I purchased this item 6/27/24. It doesnt dry and it only washes on a few settings. It takes 2.5 hours to wash on a normal cycle which is ridiculous. Attempting to get the washer serviced using the Lg warranty has been nothing short of a time-sucking nightmare. My work ticket was closed twice by the service tech randomly. Calling to speak to someone is a complete joke and the chatbot will drive you insane. There is never a response from the chatbot except we see that you have left the conversation. Dont waste your time.

Poor Quality and Poor Customer Service

I had this dishwasher installed in May of this year. During the first use the front door immediately leaked water onto my hard wood floors. Fortunately I saw it in time before any permanent damage was done. The retailer Home Depot agreed to provide a new replacement dishwasher. When this arrived the installer noticed there was a dent in the front door so it was returned as well. At that point I decided to cancel my order and opt for a different brand. I wrote to the LG CEO at their corporate offices in Englewood Cliffs NJ in June about my experience and to date have not received any apology or even a reply from anyone at LG. Obviously they have poor product quality control and do not value their customers.

Had nothing but issues. When it is running the display starts to flicker on and off real fast and makes a clicking noise. Some times it just shuts off mid cycle. Buttons on the penal are very sensitive if you brush up against it turns on.

Complete waste of money. Bought in March 2024 broken by August. The control panel does not respond at all and yes I completed the turn breaker off and on troubleshooting. Called support took 2 hours to get someone who realized my product was still under warranty. Repair technician came out 3 days later had to order parts which lo and behold are backordered so no real estimated time for when it will be repaired. It doesnt dry the dishes since it lacks a heating element to do so and contrary to support no one is going to run their hot water for 2 minutes before turning on to make sure the water is extra hot to help evaporate dry. It does look nice that is about the only positive I can find with it. Spend your money wisely and buy a different brand that works and has better support.

the dishes dont come out clean more times than not especially the cutlery on the third rack. Additionally the front control panel has emotional issues. It looks like a strobe light when you try to turn on the machine and I have had to turn the breaker off and on again multiple times to try to reset the machine. It was non-responsive so I couldnt run a load of dishes. This happens 9 times out of 10. We ordered a new dishwasher not this one and will be saying goodbye to this one shortly. We purchased it in 2022. A dud in our opinion.

Since I have to pick a star to get this message through but I give this unit tech service customer service a big ZERO My unit I bought in January has not worked since June. A LG tech came out and said it was a malfunctioning part. When part got here a week later it took another week for the tech to return. He changed out the malfunctioning part. Did not fix the problem. He found another issue that he over looked first time around and deemed it non repairable. I was directed to the customer service and have emailed/txted all the info for an itemized receipt and still have not got a response. Everytime I call I get done with broken English asking me for info Ive given multiple times and never hear back about a refund and getting this broken dishwasher out of my house

However similar to other reviews customer service was not great and the fact that they need to outsource a delivery and installation service makes it way more complicated. I would recommend the dishwasher but I would use Home Depot Best Buy or another company rather than LG itself.

This unit was installed on April 9 2024. Wash time on the Auto setting plus Extra Dry takes 2 1/2+hours to complete and I find the many dishes are not completely dry. Any bowl or glass that has any type of dip will have a pool of water. Furthermore I have already had to have the front electronic panel replaced I am not happy with this appliance at all

The basket design sucks You cant wash red wine glasses. Even smaller white wine glasses are limited to 4. The tine spacing in the lower rack is too large causing the dishes to flop around. The washing capability is fine. I cant recommend this dishwasher.

LG and the new kitchen a perfect fit.

We bought a LG dishwasher for our new modern kitchen this will be our last kitchen to plan and construct. We downsized to a smaller one story home that had a kitchen that was built in 1955. The old kitchen had to go We went to the local big box store and purchased a range frig microwave and dishwasher. All of the LG appliances are very futuristic modern and fit the design of our new kitchen. Like they say Happy wife happy life and she is very happy with all her LG appliances.

WARNING HORRIBLE PRODUCT.

If it would let me give zero stars I would. Worst dishwasher ever Problems from the very start Called LG and they said they would send out a technician but it would be at my cost if their technician couldnt find the problem. The problem by the way is the panel going haywire and just flashing and beeping and never finishing cycles. Their solution? Just turn off your breaker then press and hold the start button for 5 seconds then turn the breaker back on and that should clear the problem. Well guess what? It clears it right then and as soon as you try and start the cycle again it happens again.

THE PRODUCT IS VERY GOOD BUT THE INSTALLERS ARE HORRIBLE. WHEN THEY REMOVED THE OLD ONE IT LEAKED WATER FROM THE KITCHEN TO THE FRONT DOOR. WE ENDED UP CLEANING IT UP. THEY WORKED AT GETTING THE NEW DISHWASHER LEVEL THE OLD ONE WAS LEVEL. THEY COULD NOT DO IT THE DISHWASHER IS LEANING FORWARD A LOT. IT IS ALSO LEANING TO THE RIGHT AND GETTING WORSE. THEY JUST THREW THE HOSES TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CABINET. ISNT THERE SUPPOSED TO BE A LOOP IN THE DRAIN HOSE? ALSO IT WOULD ONLY RUN WITH A HALF LOAD BUTTON PRESSED IN. AFTER A SECOND TRY IT MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE. SINCE THEN IT HAS WORKED GREAT. YOU CAN HEAR THE WATER SPRAYING BUT THATS BECAUSE NOTHING IS LEVEL. COULD YOU PLEASE CONTACT ME TO HAVE SOME ONE FIX IT OR REINSTALL IT.

Illegible control panel

I can not read the LED display. I dont understand how LG can say that is how it is designed. Customer service is terrible and just reads from a book. You cant design a dishwasher that is illegible. It makes no sense.

Horrible Worst dishwasher weve ever had The panel starts beeping and flashing non-stop. Only had it for two months before it started this. Called support and they said that I should turn the breaker off press the start button for 5 seconds and that should fix it. Thats laughable Then they said they could send a technician out but if I could not recreate the issue I would be responsible for the cost Ridiculous This happens randomly I cant make it happen just because the technician is physically there. Ive been turning off the breaker at least 3 times a week. The dishwasher has never dried the dishes properly either If I could put zero stars I would

Terrible Dishwasher

I purchased this dishwasher less than 2 years ago and the control panel is blinking and flickering out of control. The cycle dont want to finish. I called customer service and no one will to assist unless I buy an extended warranty. I told them the control board is cover by the warranty but they will not provide unless I hire a tech and pay $300. I was like i can purhcase NEW system at that price. CRAZY... buyer beware dont buy LG products.

New Rack

We did a new construction home LG dishwasher racks were damaged during construction. When we moved in we called and explained situation even though it was more than 2 years old they sent us brand new racks at new cost. Super impressed.

Still waiting on 2nd repair in 6 days

When it works its great but it stops short of completing cycle and leaves water standing in the bottom. It will also just start flickering the time remaining really fast and the only option is to open the machine until it decide to slow down to the normal flashing speed and the machine again and hope it continues the cycle without doing it again. Just had the control panel replaced 6 days ago and it is still doing the same thing. So at this point cant say I am a very happy camper.
