Not Made To Last

Our LG is justr under 5 years old. I started to rust toward the end of the 2nd year and now the top rack wont open and lcose properly. In looking up replacement parts it will cost us $600 to replace the racks and railings. Thats 60 of the cost of the machine We might as well buy a new one from a brand that lasts. COmpletely disappointed in LG. As an interior designer I will definitely warn my clients away.

Only good thing about this Dishwsher is the noise

Purchased this dishwasher when I upgraded my kitchen last year. As far as sound this unit is as quiet as they come. Its sleek look great and has some decent options. Thats where the positives end. The tilting arms on the ends of the washing do not stay on durring the wash cycle. When they fall off this dishwasher is louder than all get out. Additionally this unit consistently puts up error codes when there is nothing wrong with it. I have bought 6 LG applicances during my kitchen remodel and this one is only beaten in dissapointment by my stove. These items are not worth the money do not purchase.

I have had this dishwasher for 2.5 years. I just had to have the motor replaced. The motor was under warranty but not the $300 service call. I paid well over $1000 for this dishwasher. My review would have been higher as I really love the dishwasher but I feel the motor should have lasted longer than the cheap one I replaced.

Component flaw

I bought this product a little over a year ago and it has had a major component fail already. When the dishwasher was about a year old I noticed that some of the LEDs on the clock display werent working. Then occasionally the dishwasher would beep and lights flash during a cycle. I did an Online Chat with LG and included a video of what the dishwasher was doing. I was told that the beeping and flashing meant I needed to add a Rinse agent. As time went on the dishwasher started having more issues with the control panel. Randomly all the lights on the control panel would start flashing and at times it was difficult to turn off the control panel. This started happening more and more often. I again contacted LG and sent videos of the issue. The agent told me that resetting the dishwasher would correct the issue. I did that but still had LED lights out on the control panel and the dishwasher still randomly had lights flashing and at times when I turned it off it would come back on. I was given the name of a local certified LG service company to call. I called the company and paid them $150.00 to come out to look at the machine. The serviceman said the issue was with the control panel and he contacted LG technical support who told him that a service bulletin had been issued for this very problem and that I should contact customer service and request an extension on the warranty. I contacted customer service and they said the serial number on my dishwasher was not included in the service bulletin even though my issue was the same as those included but they would put in a request for an exception to be made and that a resolution would be made in 3-5 days. After 5 days I contacted customer service again and after explaining once again what my issue was the agent was eventually able to have a one time extension made to my warranty. She arranged for the repair piece to be ordered and for an LG technician to come to our house. About a week later the repair piece arrived and it was installed. So far it appears as though this has at least temporarily solved our problem. I am grateful for the repair but am still out $150 for what apparently is a known defect in the control panel. I worry that this panel will fail again and I will once again have a dishwasher that is possessed.

The worst warranty

Well after waiting for a replacement for a month for my rusted dishwasher racks I had to start the process all over again of arguing the length of my warranty. My owners manual specifically says Main control and dishwasher racks covered for 5 years but customer support is once again arguing that it is 2 years. In summary they decided not to send replacement racks but didnt inform me. Oh and my cracked control panel isnt considered the main control panel and is outside of their 1 year warranty. LG customer support is becoming a full time job. Ugh.

My dishwasher is only 4 years old with light use I live alone. The racks top and bottom are rusting to the point of crumbling. And like other reviewers the control panel is cracked. The crack appeared after a year but I thought it was from a houseguest being careless with it so I didnt think to do a warranty claim. Then I saw the other reviews-wow Same issues across the board. Customer service was okay-ish. Thankfully I held onto the owners manual. I had to text a picture of my owners manual to a representative to prove that my warranty was 5 years instead of 2yrs. Not an easy or straightforward process. Additionally my dishwasher often errors out before the cycle is complete and I have tried every troubleshooting tip including cleaning the filter. It would be helpful if I could read the error code but the control panel is damaged. This was way too expensive to be this defective. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Oh Im checking a box that makes me say I received this product at a discount for my honest review. There was no discount but I am entering a $500 giveaway sweepstakes. If I win I will not purchase another dishwasher from LG

Nice dishwasher but fails to be reliable.

A few years into using it now. So far I have had to replace a seal on the lower wash wand replace the lower tray due to broken clips and chased down repeated phantom errors. All in all it is quiet and washes well when it works but no where near as good as our old Miele. I wont own another LG thanks to this unit and am not sure how it made it to market seeing as it is problematic.

Rusted racks and cracked top panel after 4 years

Do not buy this dishwasher. Mine is 4 years old and I have the same issues as other reviewers. My top panel cracked after a year I thought this was only mine but reviews here say differently. At 4 years my racks are completely rusting to the point of totally disintegrating. I arrived at these reviews looking for a solution but it appears like other reviewers my 2 year warranty has lapsed. I would expect soooo much more from such an expensive dishwasher. Terrible

I dishwasher worked great I think the control board should be on the front to prevent water from entering. Most other reviews I have read and what I also experience is cracks on the top of the control board .. probably from heat and consistently getting wet. I think it would help with longevity in the unit and prevent less work for LG warranty.

Love it when it works

Had for less than 2 years and has failed due to manufacturing defects twice now. Unnecessarily difficult repeated phone calls to LG and partner to get repaired through LGs third party partners. LG keeps texting me asking if repair is complete but cant get the partner to schedule. Currently the unit will power up but immediately powers itself down. Been trying for two weeks to get someone out. Not fun to be out a dishwasher during the holidays.

Could have been better

I have had dishwasher for 3 1/2 years. I was disappointed to have several problems already. My past dishwashers have lasted much longer without problems. They were not LG products Also one year warranty ended 2 months after it was delivered and installed in my new home.

Didnt last long before needing expensive repair

Meh. Pretty design and quiet features worked well at first. BUT it stopped working after about 18 months. After spending $1300 on a dishwasher I expected a LOT better experience than this Ive never had a dishwasher break ever including one that I owned for over 12 years. Clearly this one was made with cheap parts. Very disappointed.

Garbage quality constantly breaking down

We have had this dishwasher for less than a year and have had a service tech out to try to fix leaking 3 times and it is still leaking. The prongs that hold the plates up dont stay in place at all and the wine glass holder is mostly useless because it pops out of place. Almost everything that seems like it would be a nice feature on this dishwasher is complete garbage.

Water hisses loudly when first started and everytime unit needs water. Unit drones loudly like a speaker with too much base. You can actually hear the water inside spraying at times during the cycle. Also any dirty item on upper or lower rack in the corners do not get cleaned. Must pre clean silverware that has peanut butter or egg yolk on it.

Close to perfect

Id love to give this five stars because its better than good but its not excellent or without flaws. I had a three drawer KitchenAid that I loved in my last house. I bought this house last year and could not find the same one. Nor did I like the new KitchenAid or Bosch options so I went with this LG. It is extremely quiet and cleans well but it also takes a really long time like three hours Even the quick cleaning settings arent quick. I love the drawers and all the options to move pegs and even move drawers up and down. Though I wished the pegs didnt move on their own so easily. There is a large capacity Ive yet to find anything I cant fit on the bottom if I lower the pegs. She silverware holes are a bit too small as my large forks and spoons do not fit in them so I have to use the utensil bins open. I much prefer the utensil slots that separate them for cleaning. The light is a necessity and it goes off way too soon. Its great if youre opening to add a dish or two but when doing the dishes after dinner it goes off long before Im done. Id love a setting option to leave this on while the door is open or at least extend the auto off so it doesnt go off so quickly. It cant be on for more than 30 seconds to a minute. The app feedback is wonderful I appreciate the reminders to clean my filter and run a dishwasher cleaner through it.

Black Stainless is a FAKE

I bought this dishwasher in 2018. Its very quiet however the control panel cracked soon after the purchase. I also made the mistake of purchasing the black stainless to which there is NO touch-up paint and the coating comes off and LG doesnt stand behind any of the dishwasher product. Ive reached out to the Office of the President months ago and havent received any response. Unfortunately I own a kitchen full of LG and I wont make that mistake again.

Beautiful functional dishwasher

This dishwasher was a little hard to figure out at first. I love the top rack even though I forget things are in there sometimes. I gave it four stars because it does not hold nearly as much as my last dishwasher. The racks can fold down and they sometimes tip over and the middle of the bottom rack doesnt have any racks at all. Cups tip over and break in this dishwasher. Also the bottom corner was damaged during shipping and it has a small leak I didnt notice for many months.

Worked GreatUntilIt Didnt

I bought the dishwasher and it worked great until one day when it was about 3 years old and it just will not turn on. The main control board has a 5 year warranty but the warranty does not cover labor. So Im waiting and waiting to get it fixed. I can update review if and when its working again.

Huge improvement over old diswasher

We bought this LG Dishwasher almost 2 months ago. There is really nothing bad we can say about it. Our prior dishwasher was 20 years old and the improvements on this LG are amazing. A short list would be that is does a great job washing it is very quiet we love the 3rd rack and the adjustments on all racks it is easy to use yet has a ton of options we usually just hit Auto and let it do its thing anymore and it does a great job of dying even though it oesnt have a heating element. We really like It

Ran into issues the minute the warranty expired

Decent features good looking quiet. However a few months after the warranty expired the heating coil burnt out then the LG tech who came out to fix it caused a different issue which is that now it wont level. LG customer service has been an absolute disaster. I really hope to never buy an LG appliance again because my LG oven also developed an error at almost the same time

Less space and different setup

I dont like how the layout is. The bowls dont stand upright on the middle rack. The lower rack is smaller than my previous dishwasher. The machine works well and cleans good. Need to adapt to new layout for how to fit all my dishes in.

My dishwasher still does not work

I bought a dishwasher and we hardly use it. When we try using it it would turn off within 30 seconds of the cycle. A tech came out and said the control board needs to be replaced but he was unsure. Now the part is on back order and I have a brand new dishwasher that does not work.

I am embarrassed to say I bought this appliance for a reason I never dreamed I would use - it was the only black stainless steel dishwasher the three store company had. It was important that I have the appliance quickly and that it fit in with the other major appliances. It was great serendipity It is efficient easy to use quiet energy efficient and cleans incredibly well. I really like it and am happy I stumbled into purchasing this appliance. I had done my research for a new dishwasher was aware of this product and its good reputation. But the final choice for selecting it was because it is what I needed and it was available when I needed it. It was a very lucky day for me Any time I have to replace appliances I will always keep LG on the top of the list Experience with the product has been the best recommendation
