The worst dishwasher I have ever owned

I bought this dishwasher from Best Buy and paid over $1200 it has been a nightmare rather than a highly functional state of the art dishwasher. Both the usage and the customer experience calling LG has been terrible LG has constantly lied and misrepresented terms of the warranty agreement. It is a predatory service enterprise

Noise issue less than five years in service.

This dishwasher was purchased January 2020 and now is making a loud noise during washing that appears to be the motor in the pump. I am in the process of having to obtain a service company to fix the part that is under warranty at my cost to repair.

Good unit. Failed in less than 4 years

I had this dishwasher for 4 years and the main pump failed. They would not send a replacement pump without a service evaluation. Basically the 10 year warranty is not usable without paying someone to look at the unit. Even if you plan to do the replacement work your self. The unit still works but is super loud and eventually I expect the motor to fail or for it to start leaking. Do not buy.

Beware Dish Racks RUST at 2 years.

This is a great dishwasher EXCEPT that it has a 2-year warranty and at 2 years 1 month the dishwasher rack rusted out and it costs $350 to replace it. It is too bad because other than this is a great dishwashing machine. Just know before you buy... apparently this is a known issue for LG dishwashers when you read the forums....And there is no way around the warranty. UGH.

It has been about 4 years that we have had the dishwasher and it has done a good job. I do like that it is smart. We have an issue with the top rack that needs service under an extended warranty that we purchased. That is in process and I cant yet speak to that part.

My machine was awesome in the beginning but not anymore. Its not even 2 years old and it is so loud and sounds like bearings are shot. Warranty work should be free labor and service included for such a young machine. All the research Ive done points to the circulation pump. Grrrrrr. A very unhappy customer.

This dishwasher...works well I am still adjusting to how it runs. I am not used to the controls being on the top edge of the door hidden when the dishwasher is closed. I am also still testing out the different cycles to see how they clean and how long they run I am of the old school where you dont run the dishwasher till it is full. So I have only used it three times since it was installed. This dishwasher is very quiet when running so I often have to put my ear up close to make sure it is running. It blocks the use of one drawer and one cupboard door now that it is installed. I had to remove the cupboard door to access the cupboard itself. It is a large deep cupboard for storing large appliances you dont use regularly that take up too much space on the counter to leave out. For the drawer I have to open the dishwasher and lay the door down to open the drawer...so this is now where I store my extra knives. As a gift I cant complain too much I wish the givers would have remembered that the Dishwasher goes in a corner slot in the kitchen and had purchased one designed for a corner. The adjustable racks the top rack for cutlery and utensils and the separate silverware basket are nice features. However some of my silverware slides right through the slots on the basket top...making the top useless when trying to wash salad forks and teaspoons. which are half the size of the dinner forks and dessert spoons.

Complete failure after five years

The features of this dishwasher are stellar the performance is good and the quality and reliability is terrible. We bought a suite of LG appliances for our kitchen remodel including this dishwasher and installed them in July 2019 it is now July 2024. We had a technician out about the dishwasher within the first year due to an error code it kept throwing which caused it to stop running. The technician told us we were using too much / the wrong soap and needed to periodically run the machine clean cycle - OK fine. We made those changes and it resolved the error although I would think a $1200 dishwasher should be able to handle whatever soap a consumer wants to use but fine. Then at least a year ago possibly longer some of the lights on the control panel went out. By then the warranty and extended warranty had ended so I didnt call a technician out. I could still use the dishwasher and didnt want to pay for a service fee and what I assumed would be an expensive part. More recently we noticed the door gasket was failing and within the past year parts of the middle rack started to disintegrate. But the dishwasher still ran and still cleaned the dishes... until a couple of days ago. I ran the dishwasher overnight like always and in the morning it was flashing an error code. The dishes seemed clean so I thought maybe I just needed to run the machine clean cycle. I couldnt really tell what the error code was since the control panel lights dont work so well. When I tried to run the cycle the dishwasher wouldnt start. Long story short I scheduled a technician to come out who told me that there are multiple problems with the machine electrical / wiring issues - the thing was literally smoking from him testing whether it would start the motor is likely also bad based on the error code the control panel will only get worse and eventually we wont be able to start the machine even if we fix the other issues and the rack would need to be replaced. Basically to fix this dishwasher properly will cost as much or more than buying a new one with no guarantee the replacement parts wont also wear out in a few years again. In summary: - Control panel lights started going out four years max after purchase. - Middle rack started falling apart in two places about four and a half months after purchase. - Wiring and motor have failed five years after purchase.

A little frustrating

We bought this 11 months ago. Installed it 6 months ago. It started leaking. Found out the fan inside the front door never worked and leaked water soaking the door insulation eventually resulting in leaking through the bottom of the door onto the floor. After 3 servicing visits we think it finally works correctly.

I bought 3.3 years ago stop working suddenly was making more noise than normal was under Costco CC warrant but they dont do anything much. Was pain when completely stop Working and could be hold of Costco and CC warranty for few days which was nightmare for us to keep manually waahing dishes manually. Dont recommend this product.

I have had 3 service calls on this dishwasher and the problem is still not fixed. There is a 4th pending service call so hopefully that will fix the problem.

Within 6 months of purchase the dishwasher failed. Back to hand washing. Several hours of repair gt it partially fixed. I give up. I will changing dishwashers as soon as I can afford it. All of this suprised me because I have had an LG refrigerator that I loved.

The LG dishwasher lineup is quite confusing. I bought the Studio the Signature and then an unlabeled one. Absolutely could not tell the difference whatsoever between the unlabeled one and the Studio except that the studio was another $200. I asked LG of course and nobody knew. The Signature was missing the Steam functionality. Odd and of course once again nobody at LG knew why. Within the two-year Costco warranty period the main electronic circuit board failed and needed to be replaced. Then the lifetime motor failed extremely loud noise and drain issues. The plastic eroded away from the tines and rust began developing that too was replaced. I have forgotten everything else. It seems to burn through rinse aid very quickly. Thats about it. I suspect there are better dishwashers out there. I was hoping that this device would have the same fascinating quality that LG used to have in 2004 or so but I was mistaken. This is a basic-at-best dishwasher.

I recently purchased this machine due to my other machine that was 24 years old quit working. It is very flexible and the cycles are wonderful This machine is virtually silent. I like the third rack and also the fan drying which improves the drying drastically. I recommend this machine to anyone who wants a versatile loading silent machine

Very disappointing product and customer service

Expensive dishwasher I was expecting way better quality. After less than 2 years we started to hear a loud noise when drying. It seems we have to change the Vent Fan Motor Casing Assembly part #ABT73009401 $115 - this is a recurring issue it seems. Very disappointed by LG and discussions with customer service are so far incredibly painful to make sure they can just send a new part - this should not break after 24 months on a high end product.

I purchased this dishwasher in 2021 and within a few months I noticed cracks in the Top Control buttons panel. Subsequently the dishwasher ceased functioning. An LG technician attended and replaced the necessary parts. The appliance functioned for a few more months before the same issue recurred. Currently I am out of warranty and the cost of parts alone is $290 nearly half the price of the dishwasher itself. Regrettably this has been my least satisfactory purchase from LG and I have decided not to invest in an LG dishwasher in the future.

Great Dishwasher when it works

Loved this dishwasher until it little by little began to stop working around 6 months after my 1 year warranty expired. First the wifi no longer worked. Then it would stop mid cycle and beep madly. Now we are lucky if it will turn on and not get stuck in a beeping nightmare. I contacted LG service and got no answer. Spent 30 minutes on a chat with one of their agents and provided them all my info and they ended the chat before even providing me with info for a local service supplier. I have narrowed the issue to a defective control panel assembly and the irony is LG doesnt even manufacture the replacement part anymore - which tells me there are design flaws with the original design. I wish I could give this dishwasher 5 stars as we loved it when it worked. Please contact me LG and make this right

Great dishwasher bad pump

Bought this dishwasher 4-5 years ago and the circulation pump is now failing making awful noises. Before the failure the dishwasher is a 5 star. Working with warranty now to get it replaced but Id be wary of this model as the pump seems to routinely fail in under 5 years.

Wish the racks didnt rust within the first 2 years and the digital readout didnt fail to show complete numbers after 2 years. Wish the wash cycles didnt take so long. Wish the customer support for warranty issues was easier. Wish I could get the parts they are supposed to be sending in a timely manner.

We purchased this dishwasher 3 years ago. Recently it stopped draining and the would not power up. We had a local company who claimed to be an LG authorized repair come out. They diagnosed the problem as as bad motherboard and user interface. I contacted LG customer service and they informed me that the parts were covered but I would have to pay for the labor. I contacted the the company that diagnosed the problem and they informed me that they do not deal with LG warranties due to past issues with them. I contacted LG customer service again. They gave me 3 other places but none were willing to deal with the warranty. Ultimately we had to purchase a new dishwasher not LG

Super Quiet

Super quiet and does a great job washing the dishes. Not sure how useful the WiFi features on all these devices is but time will tell. Having the silverware basket at the back was inconvenient but it does fit on the side and is much more convenient. The top tray works great for flatter utensils.

I bought this dishwasher 3 years ago. The motherboard and user interface went bad. Although the parts were covered under a 5 year limited warranty I could not find an LG authorized repair person. None of the repair people that the LG customer service referred me to would not come out to even look at it. I ended up buying a new dishwasher not an LG.

Didnt take long and the racks started to rust. Still under warranty but good luck getting thru to them and when you do get thru good luck getting them to follow thru. The digital display panel is not working properly but that is not under warranty. They have an option to email the company president on their website. I emailed him last week and still have not heard back from him or one of his underlings.
