After 4+ years I finally have an air-conditioned shop. I framed out an opening in my metal shop building with 2.5x 2.5 square metal tube same as the structure to install this window unit into. The sleeve makes it easy to intall in a through-wall configuration. Shop is 1050 sf with only 1 foam insulation under the metal wall roof panels. The 24500 BTU unit is rated for around 1600 sf. Running the unit in Eco mode it has been doing a great job keeping my shop cool in the 95 South Carolina heat and blistering sunshine beating on the metal wall roof panels. Its been installed for a month and a half now. Hoping this A/C unit lasts me for quite a few years - we shall see.

It was so nice to finally have an Air Conditioner that Worked Harder then we did to stay Cool. Old unit was larger but Compressor never shut during the day In FL Day temps run in 90s with 80 Percent humidity it feels like 110. Easy to slide in to place and plug it turn it on and it works great In a Minute the compressor kicked in very quiet and cool air pumped out. Days Later still quiet and Pumping out cool air Im sure My Electric will be much different then before.

I wanted to wait until I used it for awhile in this case - through the 2023 June and July hot weather. I did not want the advanced features on higher level models. I use it to cool through the dining room across a hallway to the living room and enclosed front porch. It also cools the kitchen that is off the dining room and helps keep the basement cooler and less humid. That is close to 1000 sq ft. the drawback to this method is that the dining room has to be kept really cool in order for the other rooms to be cool enough. We also use an LG LW8016ER in an upstairs bedroom window and it blows across the hallway to cool 2 other bedrooms and a full bath. Installing it gave us a couple of issues. The outer shell was not a good fit even unscrewing it for removal prior to installation I noticed at least one screw that was not easily removed. I had to use a different screw or two to reattach it. I have storm windows and followed instructions to add 2 inch by 2 inch wood strips so that it cleared the storm window frame. However that resulted in the exterior supports being short of reaching the exterior window sill. I came up with a work around instead of going out to buy different brackets. When done I noticed that the front lower corners had small openings that at night might attract mosquitoes. I plugged them.

I bought this air-conditioner back in March installed it in April its running fine cooling good. I had an error code of CH 34 called costumer service found out it was a voltage problem. This actually this is very good it has protections. Ive have been in HVAC for 25 years low voltage can burn out a compressor.

I ordered this unit on 8-10-2022 and it got here very quick. took it home and installed it a couple of days later turned it on and it came up with error code CH 01 it seemed to work but froze up after running under 2 hours. I called LG service 3 different times and now was just told they dont have a service team in this area. Now that summer has ended I guess it does not make much difference anyway. I do like LG products and will buy them again just not to happy with overall situation.

Bought this unit in June worked great for 2 months then shut off a couple times with a ch34 code then was fine for a week or two then started shutting down constantly with the same error code. Finally after fighting with customer service they sent someone out to look at it. He came took a few things off did some testing it stayed running and is now staying on for two weeks. He said LG would not take fault of any issues

I bought this air conditioner thinking LG was a good brand and-or would at least have good customer service. NO to both. I emailed and called to ask a question about my new air conditioner and no response. Very difficult to install. It comes in 3 pieces first you install the frame then the unit then tge front. Be careful of what kind of window you have had to drill a piece of wood into my window frame. I had a 10.000 BTU old clunker that cooked better. I wanted a new one because it was noisy. I will say this is quiet. I would have returned but it was just to heavy to do so. Has absolutely no special features. And dims my lights if I use the economy mode. I really advise against this product.

This is our third unit purchased because the units kept freezing and later on not able to blow cold air. We love it when its new and running but once its shut we just got another one now this is our third unit in 6 yrs just about AND hoping this will last longer than the others.

Wont run when the temps get over 100 degrees

I live in Arizona I purchased this unit to cool my garage during the hot summer months. After installation and when the hot weather arrived air conditioner stopped working as soon as the outside temperatures exceeded 100 degrees. Isnt that special? An air conditioner that fails to function when it gets hot out LG is trying to claim that the unit is designed this way so that it doesnt overheat and get damaged and that this isnt a malfunction That is clearly an excuse so that they dont have to refund my money. Even their own repair person who was here twice said the air conditioner wasnt designed for the hot desert heat conditions here in the Phoenix AZ area DONT PURCHASE THIS A/C IF YOU LIVE IN AN AREA THAT GETS HOT

Poor quality

When installed it knocked so bad could not use. Had to wait weeks for technical who had to rebuild the motor. It works but sounds like an air plan motor. It is so loud. I wish I never purchased. It still knock s. Forget customer service..
