I love this cover for my Galaxy Tab A which I bought in silver. The two looks great together. The case is sturdy and the material inside is smooth that won't scratch the tablet. It doesn't add extra bulk on the device. It's the perfect pair for your Galaxy Tab A.

Not for the new Tab A

This item doesn't work for the new Tab A 8" tablet - don't waste your time. Originally ordered through Amazon, and it didn't fit; so, after researching and talking with Samsung customer service, we bought this item directly from Samsung - what could go wrong? Well, even though it says 2017 version, etc., the new Tab A is at least a half inch too large for this cover. There are no covers in stock at Best Buy, and neither Samsung, Best Buy nor Amazon knows whether they have a cover that will fit - we returned the cover AND the tablet.

I purchased this to protect the tablet screen when closed and it is adequate for the job. Very thin and light-weight and probably does not give much shock protection, but it does not appear to be intended to. It puts the screen to sleep when you close it, and the tablet wakes when opened. I am glad I looked again at the picture of how to prop it at an angle: I almost bent it the wrong way, and I am not sure if I would have damaged it. An adequate magnet holds it in place when propped. As a bonus I found that holding my tablet while the cover is in the propped position creates a larger handle for my left hand to grip, making it somewhat more comfortable. Good product.
