one of the speakers is humming in less than 2 years. i never had it on very loud to blow a speaker. when i first bought it sounded great.

i was given this product as a gift in it's original packaging. right off the bat i could tell that the subwoofer wasn't functioning like it was supposed to. luckily, the product according to it's serial number, was under warranty. it took a little patience but samsung took in the subwoofer (and the soundbar) and fixed it at no charge. well played samsung. you have a customer for life!

i purchased this sound bar for our home back in february of this year, and while it took some troubleshooting, we finally got it paired with our tv. then randomly, it wouldn't turn on, we get it paired up again and then it wouldn't turn off. and now, randomly, while in mid-use, the soundbar will just turn off. to make matters worse, the display on the sound bar just stopped working.
also worth noting, the less than impressive sub-woofer. although we could live with that if the sound bar would just pair up. we had a samsung soundbar previously and never had any issues.
i realize the price was a top selling point, but still, for what we paid, i expected much more.

Hello, I bought this a few months ago.
The bass sounds great.. but sometimes its hard to hear the voices, even when I turn bass levels down. I have it connected to TV using hdmi cable i did have the optical cable..is there something else I should do or does the center speaker just not get that load,for voice?. I have had some less quality speakers have more voice. I am disappointed in this speaker. I have thought of returning in hopes it was a faulty one, but I think I threw away receipt by accident. I may just look into another brand next purchase.

I purchased this just before Christmas hoping to get a good soundbar and subwoofer. While the soundbar works good, the subwoofer is a waste of time. Samsung will tell you that it is only supposed to reproduce low frequency, etc. I have a samsung cell phone that produces as much bass as the subwoofer that came with the soundbar. Even after multiple resets, bluetooth repairing, etc the subwoofer leaves a lot to be desired even on its highest volume setting. I've owned other soundbar and subwoofer in the past and this one is by far just not good for anything bass related.

Samsung should be embarrassed by this product's subwoofer performance. They single out its subwoofer as a RUMBLING STRONG SOUND in reality, I had to place my ear against the subwoofer to determine if it had output. I was looking forward to my first Samsung soundbar to connect seamlessly to my Samsung QLED TV. The connection did not disappoint however the quality of the output was disgusting. I'm returning this product ASAP.

Bought this sound-bar / sub to go along with our new purchase of our Samsung 65" TV. We had a Sony sound bar and sub...however, after initially connecting the Sony, it wouldn't work after the initial setup. (we found out manufactures are now going proprietary with components). So, we went out and bought the HW-R650 after thoroughly reviewing it online. There were several bad reviews concerning the subwoofer stating things such as, "where's the bass", "sub is horrible", etc. I didn't take much stock in those comments being that most were probably from people not understanding the true purpose of a sub when used in the home environment. I feel most of the bad reviews came from individuals wanting a "booming" system to match something in a car stereo contest. :/ The sub and sound-bar do exactly what it supposed to do..."create a beautiful audio experience in a way that is subtle, yet appealing to the ears". We love ours and would highly recommend it!! It was very easy to install.

Other than the bass, it sounds great but I just got it and haven't watch a full movie yet... if you are looking for thumping bass, look elsewhere... otherwise it's a great value at a discounted price right now for a 3.1 channel soundbar

I just recieved this soundbar as a gift I have to say that this R650 has amost no base! The subwoffer just plain stinks and please don't tell me asbout its 6 up and 6 below settings! I have wasted my entire day trying to get the base to work as a subwoofer should and it does not sound good at all and it never will! In fact Samsung should RECALL THIS UNIT and give unhappy owner a fair upgrade at no cost! This is what I would like to have after spending all of my valubale time on this with no results! Its not defective! It just plan stinks!

Ok I know I can't match my 7.2.2 home theater with this little thing, but with the bass all the way up and the treble dropped all the way the bass is really underwhelming. Thought I would try to update the firmware but the method on the website doesn't do anything that I can see. Wife says lets send it back, but I hate to do that without living with it for at least a few days, but it does not look good. I have to say that the bar itself is made of metal and is strong enough to use for self defense, but the bass unit with all its size is just weak.

I bought this soundbar as an upgrade from my HW-M360 series which I had the 8500 series rear speakers connected to which gave me 4.1 surround sound. I wanted 5.1 so I bought the R-650 in order to do so. This soundbar is great you just need to set it up properly and sometimes that takes a little time and patience. This new soundbar, I was upset at first too but then when I figured out how to set the settings and such it is great now. The bass is fine just needs adjustments. I just played some music and the bass was bumping as it does here and there when watching movies and shows.

We just bought a new Samsung 65" smart TV and Soundbar, thinking they would be compatible. We love the TV and the sound produced by the soundbar, but like so many others, we have an issue with the soundbar randomly turning itself off. We had the two devices connected optically and have also tried a Bluetooth connection. We followed Samsung's suggestions to "Unsatisfied Georgian" but pressing those buttons on the soundbar's remote do not work for us. This is causing more frustration in our household and we are wishing we had done more research on the product before buying it.

I tried the r550 first and returned it for this model. The r550 has too much bass and the voices sound muffled often. The bass is much more balanced with this model and the center channel speakers make it so that you can hear the voices in movies clearly. I do wish there was an app for iOS and I'm unclear if the surround mode is just for if you've added rear speakers.

I just bought this item with the 9000s rear speakers as recommended by the Best Buy employee. Went home to set up to find out the 9000s rear speakers are not compatible. Later learned when returning the speakers that Samsung has not yet released rear speakers that are compatible with the R650 soundbar.

Soundbar definitely sounds better than the TV speakers on the Q80, but the sub is a little underwhelming. I have messed around with the setting quite a bit but just can't get to that wow factor. Wish I would have purchased the HW-Q60R.

I bought this sound bar a few weeks ago. It works fine; good bass, 0-100 sound level setting. The only issue is that it turns on by itself after being turned off. I have to manually unplug the power cord to prevent this from happening.
