Useless device and useless support

support took around 2.5 hrs and couldn't help me connect to wifi. they were not sure what app to use. a couple of them told me to use an app that goes out of service next month.
the vacuum itself doesn't work by any means. if i use it manually, it randomly turns. when i let it clean on its own, it sometimes stops in the middle of a room with nothing in front of it and says it is blocked. sometimes times when it meets an actual obstacle like a wall or the magnetic tape, it turns 180° and goes in reverse, climbing over the obstacle that it is not supposed to. yes, it tries climbing the walls! it goes to a 45° vertical angle before getting off the wall.
the only pro is that it is better designed for cleaning the dust than its older models.

i love my powerbot r9250, i have a belgian malinois for my service dog. her name is zena, she sheds alot, if it wasn't for my vacuum my house would be a mess. i'm disabled with bad knees and back so it helps alot with cleaning the floors. i recommend it to all my military buddies.

we have had our bot for a while now! it worked well when we first purchased it. i braged to all my friends how it was the best thing i ever purchased. it help keep my house clean with 4 dogs. we didn't use it for about a year while we were building our new house. well now it seems like it is lost. it will clean for a little while (1 minute or 2) than say end and tey to go back to its docing station which it could never find. it had a full battery when it does this. it was so expensive and my husband had been trying reading the manual to tey and fix it but all the trouble shooting doesnt fix it! we are about to give up! now i would not recommend it to anyone.

I love the design of this powerbot! It's so rugged and definitely has no problems making it over pretty much anything in it's way. The robot is able to traverse quite a bit and transitions great from hardwood to shag carpet and even up a couple inch break between rooms. The power bot is easy to empty. Once the smart things is connected the app side of everything is easy to use. There are settings for custom scheduling and cool mapping of the robot.

This works amazing over all my hardwood floors and even the rugs! If you have hardwood floors that are hard to keep clean then you need one of these! It picks up all of our dog's and cat's hair which saves a lot of time with cleaning.

Prior to receiving the POWERbot I thought I would still have to do my regular vacuuming, but this thing is so amazing I don't have too! Since we have such a busy house I have it set to do it's thing Monday, Wednesday, and Friday while we're all out of the house. This way we don't have to worry about being in it's way or anything like that. I should have invested in one of these a long time ago!

I bought this robot in March of 2018 and all was going well. In April of this year (2 weeks after the warranty expired) , it started making a weird noise. It ended up that the belt for the roller was bad. I replaced it myself ($50) and a week later the same thing happened so this time I found that the brush roller motor was bad. I replaced that as well ($150) and thought I had it working. Now the thing goes to clean, stops and makes like it has an error yet it doesn't display an error code. I'm done with this one.

This is a fantastic device. My family and I have been amazed at watching it roam around our home, in a consistent pattern, and vacuum up the debris on a daily basis. Now instead of vacuuming directly we all just stand around and watch the Vacuum do our work for us....I'm really not joking...we literally now watch the vacuum cleaner in amazement over actually vacuuming the floor.
Overall the PowerBot does do exactly what it is supposed to, however I wish I could say the same thing about the Smarthome/Smarthings application. Getting this vacuum connected to the Samsung apps has been a nightmare for me. I, and many others, have spent countless amount of hours working with Samsung support to just get passed between the device support and App support resources. I believe that I have figured out what works and what doesn't that I can try and assist others with here.
First off the PowerBott r9250 just doesn't work with Smart Things. I don't care how much Samsung says that it does...It doesn't. To get it to even show up in Smart Things you have to use Samsung's old Smart Home app and register it through that app (Not without huge complications) then once it is registered in Smart Home you will then see it in Smart Things, however you cannot control the robot in SmartThings as it keeps on telling you that it needs to be registered through Smart Things which doesn't work for this device so I ended up just hiding the robot from the SmartThings dashboard and turned off notifications for it.
In Smart Home in order to connect the device you need to put the device in AP mode and then put your phone in Airplane mode (With WiFi turned on). The Device will connect to the device and then the device will attempt to connect to your router. Once it starts connecting to the router you need to take your phone out of Airplane mode or it will never connect to your router. Not sure why this works but it has worked for me everytime once I figured out the pattern. Ultimately this is a ridiculous process to go through but once it is registered I don't believe that you will need to go through the process again unless you disconnect the device from your account.
This is something that Samsung really needs to fix. The reason I left my rating at 4 stars is because at the end of the day you shouldn't need to use the App to control the vacuum as it should just stick to it's schedule and work. The device itself is amazing now if only the app can get up to speed this would be a killer device.

First impression when you receive parcel, it's big, heavy and sturdy. I already had robot vacuums from different other brands, so first impression on build quality feels better. One issue could be that the look of the PowerBot is quite distinctive, which make him stand out when placed in a place where you can easily see it. Other robots have more discreet designs. Depending on what you are looking for this can be a pro or con. Setup process: Setup up out of the box is not only quick and easy, but thorough. It took less than 4 hours for the PowerBot to fully charge. The boundary markers are quite easy to apply, but I didn't use them and have also never used them with any other robotic vacuum. Setup of WiFi and SmartThings integration is easy. Alexa support is also great. Use: The first time you use it you will be surprises on how truly quiet it is compared to conventional vacs as well as other robotic vacuums. While the cleaning is going on you can carry on with your other activities, no need to leave the house. After the run is completed, empty of the waste bin was straight forward. Suction power of the PowerBot is excellent and better compared to the competition. Running in a house with furniture can be an issue. The PowerBot handles most obstacles pretty well, however it can get stuck or jammed during its run on objects which are low enough to not be seen as a block, but high enough to get stuck on it. Conclusion: It's a great mid-range vacuum. It's not a five-star vacuum, there are more advanced models, but for this price you can't go wrong. Spending double for a few extra features are not really justified in most cases except you really, really need one of the extra features.

Simply amazing! The Powerbot Robot Vacuum does the work so you don't have to. Set up the base and give it a charge and never worry about vacuuming your home again. It is intuitive and learns your space. Tell it to vacuum a certain room or the whole house. Works wonders on both carpet and hard wood floors. Digital displays on the unit combined with cell phone app allows you to cater the settings to your liking. Such a wonderful addition to our family. It does the work while we go play!

I bought this in March and I have used plenty of robot vacuums before and the Samsung Powerbot R9250 is by far the best that I've ever used. I have 2 dogs that are short haired but shed all over the place, they also drag in sand because I live in the South. The Powerbot picks up so much more dirt in the cracks of my tile floor, along edges of the cabinets and along my walls. I was expecting to be let down and have to do what I have done with other brands, but I am so glad I made this purchase and Samsung has my business for as long as they make robot vacuums! The Powerbot is very easy to learn how to use. One quick read through the booklet and I knew all I needed to on how to get the Powerbot running. I think it is really cool that I can connect to the Powerbot via wifi and control it through my phone. There is an option to also use Alexa but I haven't done that one yet. The options for this Powerbot are endless I could write about them forever! I think the main selling point that I liked was that it has a washable filter and I don't have to keep buying new ones. I read about that before buying and it was a huge advantage for me. I would highly recommend!

How is a Samsung product not supported on Samsung Smart Things App? I liked the previous model better and it worked on Smart Things. Not sure why a newer version wouldn't be supported on the app. This one does have better suction, but does not seem to know where it is going. Goes in circles a lot and will fall down the steps if you don't use the magnetic strips. Also I don't think it has the sweeper/squeegee to clean the edges on hard floors like the last model.

I have waited almost 3 years to write this review. Many do it right away, which I appreciate, I am more of those who like to see it last over the long run. I have also purchased two more of these units for a friend and my sister. They too are still functioning as of today.
I purchased this vacuum for my mother. She is in her elder years and not able to clean as much as she would like. She also has a dog, that would shed more than most dogs. Literally she would have to sweep or vacuum three times a week to stay on top of the dog hair.
The house is moderate size ranch home with 4 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, family room, 2 bathrooms, and a dining area. My mother was a big skeptic of this working and told me to return it the first week I bought it. Now if you took it away from her she would fight you for it. The most important thing you must due is prep your home for a robot vacuum.
1. Make sure all electrical cords are hidden or off the path of the vacuum. It will digest them.
2. Make sure your house is pretty clutter free on the floor.
3. Place the vacuum in a central area of the home.
4. Last but not least you must let the vacuum learn your home. It took about a solid week and really two before it was very competent in vacuuming the entire house.
5. The first week you are going to think you are a dirty person for all the stuff it picks up. It is "OK", because once it has worked its magic your house will look clean every day.
Pros:
1. It has made my mother happy. The hair is gone on a daily basis. This means she has to clean out the bin about every three days due to the hair. I would not expect this for a regular home.
2. Once it knows your home it will take about an hour for it to finish the entire house.
3. Moderately quiet. You can have it running while you are on the phone or others are in the house talking.
4. Easy to maintain.
5. The Samsung app tells you if you have an issue with the vacuum.
6. The initial cost was expensive, but like I said you get what you pay for. The Consumer reports reviews sold me and it has held up to the test.
7. Cleaning and maintenance. Easy to remove bin and filter must be cleaned once a week. You get a replacement filter you clean with tap water.
Cons:
1. Will not clean into tight corners or under certain counters.
2. Will get caught up on things, so you have to pay attention to rooms with items on the floor.
3. Dining room sets seem to be an issue in our house and gets caught up often.
4. It doesn't return home and is stuck under the bed. Just a pain to fish it out. More of my compliant than anything.
5. Open Stair Case. I know it is NOT supposed to move past steps and not tumble down, but my sister has reported two incidents of this happening with hers. Good news the vacuum has taken the fall twice without issue.
All in all I am happy with all three units and was hoping they would come out with a model to do the mopping for my mother too!

Robot vacuums have been around for a while now. Though I'm all about making life easier through the use of technology never did I think I would ever own one. I'm happy to say that my experience has been pretty good with the Samsung Powerbot 9250. I was surprised by its size when I first unboxed it. The 18.7 x 20.9 inch frame was bigger than I expected. What's great about it is there are multiple ways to operate it. It comes with a remote that you can use to direct it around the house. It can connect to wifi so you can use Google home or the Amazon Echo to tell it to clean. If you are a Samsung Smartthings user (like myself) you can integrate it into your routine configuration. Also as with a lot of other things these days you can use an app (Samsung Home) to control it from your phone or tablet device. Initially putting it together took no time at all. It comes with a remote, extra filter, cleaning tool and a magnetic strip. The strip is used to mark off areas you don't want your Powerbot venturing into. I let it charge for about 2 and a half hours as listed in the instructions. Connecting it to my home wifi was fairly easy using the Samsung Home app. Integrating it into the Samsung Smartthings app did take a couple tries but I was eventually able to get it connected there as well. For being one of the more powerful robot vacuums on the market it wasn't disturbingly loud while in use. The first time out I just let it run and find its way around. The visionary mapping was pretty accurate in making sure it didn't bump into things it came into contact with. Due to its large frame it did have a little difficulty maneuvering through narrow spaces. I was still confident with letting it run while I was out of the house and am glad to report that nothing was knocked over. When it was finished it immediately returned to its charging dock. Manually directing the Powerbot using the remote made cleaning up simple spills quick and easy. The Samsung Powerbot 9250 has definitely set the bench mark for me when it comes to what I want from my smart vacuum.
